The one where I want to thank my dad

My dad....

My father.....

I never thought one day, I will be writing about my dad. My dad is a very strict and perfectionist man. Everything has to be in order. Everything that don't follow his way is the wrong way. Everything has to be perfect otherwise why bother doing it anyway!

My dad had also thought me how to be tough. Crying is not acceptable. I remembered when I was small, my dad took me to the dentist and he warned me about crying. While the dentist was doing the extraction, he stood there at the door making sure I won't cry. And I did not cry, just shed some tears but no sound.

My dad also told me, no matter how a person behave, and if that person is older, there's no excuse for me to misbehave or in malay terms "kurang ajar" to that person. To him, it's a reflection of how I was raised if I do misbehave.

My dad also thought me though we are equipped with all the knowledge in the world, if it's not complimented with hard work, success will not happen. Work hard is a must, not just work smart.

I owe many things in life to my dad. Why this entry? Nope, it's not his birthday or any special event. Cause, I am thinking of my dad and that does not require me to have a special event!

Ooooo.... korang mengata aku yer....

Yelah, akak ada blog ke???

Anyway, wanted to have this entry earlier however, time is just not on myside nowadays. As much as I tried to manage and adjust here and there, I got to admit, I still need more than 24 hours a day. Don't we all.

If it's not too late, I want to put on record I had a great Raya. Been to many open houses, the last weekend of Raya was 13 Saturday and Sunday combined. We went to many places, and tried our best to attend all the invites except for the day Adik got engaged.

The last one was at lil^red's Open House which I got to meet my blogger friends. And I am so proud I succumbed to all the sarcasm and remarks menusuk kalbu about the "activeness" of my blog. Then, they asked me when do I plan to blog about this very soon after the even. "Alah, akak buat ler click here, here and here entry!".

Sampai sudah, baru ler nak buat. So here's my click here, here, here, here and here entry for the happenings of the event. And dapat member baru, so apa lagik, click here lah!

At least akak nie takde ler truk macam click here yang nie....Hahahaha!!!

Adik's engagement

Adik's engagement was held last Saturday. I tell you it was a grand event, macam kenduri kahwin. Yelah, Adik is the youngest and the last one for us to have such ceremony. Hence, that explains the kebesaran of the majlis.

It was held penuh adat istiadat. Complete with pantun and seloka melayu by the experts in the subject matter.

The hantaran pink vs blue, pink is ourside of course.

The girls love the way their Cik Cu looked. Very pretty they said. I was about to drop some tears looking at Adik, how she has grown up to be a lovely woman. The first time I met her, she was still in her primary school and now ready to be married.

Of course, me and my better half shared her happiness....

My very first handphone

While I was going through some stuff at Kampung, I cam across this antique thing in the drawer of the dressing table.

This was my first handphone back in 1997. Besar gedabak giler!!!

It was an Alcatel and was categorised as one of the coolest phone that era.

Kalau sekarang ada phone camni, malu nak answer calls in public....balik anjing pun anjing meninggal!!!

Raya 2009 - Family Potrait

This pics were taken when we came back from Batu Pahat, the 4th Raya and we had this Raya gathering @ our house in BSP. All of us were there, the first pics were everyone is in the picture.

My parents, my 2 brothers and their family and of course my better half with the cuties.

And this is all the grandchildren my parents have. Of course there's Anis's mother(Iwan's wife) to hold Anis.

Now you know why I did not blog at all during Raya. I was really enjoying myself and this is one of the best raya I ever had!

Hari Raya 2009 - The Snapshots of theme colour

It's a norm for us to have 2 colour theme for each Raya. Once for the first day and another one for the second day. We would usually let the cuties decide what colour they would want as the theme and this year they had chosen green and pink.

I love how all the baju raya turn out. Love the colour combination our family had, similar yet with distinctive difference.

Hope it's not too late to wish Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin!

Sorry lah all, life as usual has been very hectic. Not that I don't have things to share, in fact alot to the extend I don't know where to begin. Hence, I have decided to manage my time better as per the following new schedule

4.30am - wake up to cook for lunch, get ready to work and make sure the cuties are ready for school

6.30am - go to work

6.30pm - reach home

6.45pm - cook dinner and prepare for tomorrow's items like my better half's clothing and all

7.30pm - solat jemaah maghrib and dinner

8.30pm - check the cuties homework, do laundry and clothes folding

9.30pm - blogging

11.00am - off to bed

If I can commit to this routine, I am pretty sure I will not be getting such friendly remarks again kan?

So, wish me luck ya! Cause I seriously need it!

Buka Puasa @ Seri Melayu

Another long overdue entry, this time was a session where we had buka puasa @ Seri Melayu. The girls and I considered this as a girls night out after a long day at work.

We choose Seri Melayu because...

We voted(actually Maryam forced us to vote and she lobbied for Seri Melayu as well) and Seri Melayu was the chosen venue.

We arrived earlier and managed to go to Pavillion for some shopping action. Maryam got herself a pair of shoes while Salwa got 2! Sungguh sakan!

The food there was great. A lot of varieties and they were doing this stalls concept. Mostly are typical Malay food with combination of some western delicacies however, the taste was excellent!

What I had :

The western food - grilled lamb and chicken with salad

Sate - this is a must!

Some nasi kuning, this was served in a lamb's stomach, very unique, this was accompanied by some lauk. And of course the sup tulang rawan, you must try this if you get the chance.

That nite was also the nite Nadia shared with us her getting engaged experience which was so sweet!!! While the ladies listened attentively and shared their happiness.

What's special here is while having our iftar, we were entertained by cultural shows performed by the dancers.

We could have eaten more, if only we did not laugh so much!

After long silence, I am tempting you with what we cooked throughout Ramadhan

After long silence, I am blogging from Putrajaya while waiting for the afternoon session of this programme. Yup, still working despite Raya is just few days away....Sedih...

Moving on...

Let me share what we cooked during this fasting month, some of the menu lah yer

One night was declared as Italian night, we cooked Pizza and Pasta. We even tried doing our own dough

Another nite was also declared as Western food night where we had fried chicken ala KFC, grilled burger and grilled lamb. We also had salad and soup.

There's one night where the house smelled like bakery. We baked few types of bread and alhamdulilah, it turned out well.

Another night, we cooked Char kuey teow, with additional ingredients like fish cakes, fish balls and lots of taugeh!!!!

And of course, my better half being a true Johorean, of couse want to have Johor style food and I cooked Lontong to satisfy his cravings. Accompanied with sambal sotong, sungguh lazat!!!

We did other dishes too, like Nasi Beriani, Nasi Minyak to name a few. But, laterlah, nanti ada yang nak buka pose azan zohor!!

Monopoly - The quality time that matters

As a working mom, I will try my very best to spend time with my cuties. I will try to either take them out or do something at home. So, if it's at home, we have to plan some activities so that the cuties won't get bored.

During the cuties birthday party, they received alot of board games. That includes 3 versions of Monopoly ; 1 - normal 1- Starwars and 1-Malaysian version.

Last weekend, we had our Malaysian version session of Monopoly. It was really fun as the landmarks are full of places which we can relate to like Putrajaya, KLIA, KLCC and so on.

I don't really like Monopoly, I felt like the game is too long and boring....

But for the sake of my cuties, akak layan jer lah....

Iftar Menu - Bubur Berlauk

Ramadhan really test your creativity. What to cook, how to present it and how to make it interesting for the cuties, Otherwise, masak bagai nak rak and no one wants to eat it.

One of the menus that we tried out was Bubur Berlauk, inspired by the one we had at Kg Bharu.

And the lauk we did were scrambled eggs, kangkung goreng belacan, ayam masak kunyit, hati masak cili and ikan bilis goreng.

The bubur is just plain bubur. Marvelous!!!

Minum pulak air tebu, mengancam!!!!

Sugar shortages

You must have heard, after all we are living in the same country. The shortages of sugar. Everytime the festive season arrives, there will usually be shortages of something. If my memory serves me correctly, last year was flour.

I can see this happening in front of my eyes, people are buying sugar in bulk, just take a look at this....

I wonder why is this happening. Is it a global thing or just Malaysia. Is it because we use sugar to much? Any clue guys?

Iftar Menu - Mee Hoon Soup

Very simple iftar indeed. Just some kuih bought at Pasar Ramadhan and shredded chicken for the main dish. Also chocolate roll bought earlier from a bakery.

Other condiments can be seen as well, daun sup with cili kicap.

The end product....a simple iftar menu, mee hoo soup...

Iftar Menu - Let's Go Western

This entry was long over due as this was the Iftar menu we had during the first few days of Iftar. I don't think I have to remind you the cuties came up with the menu kan.

That night was declared as the western food nite. We had many dishes ala western which were all home cooked and prepared by us, the family of 5.

Here we have fried chicken with potato salad

Burger - grilled not fried

Garlic bread - home baked

Grilled lamb - self marinated

A helicopter view of the dishes....ok lah, I have to confess, the mushroom soup came out of a can. Manalah sempat nak masak mushroom soup from scratch kan....we also made cekodok kurma and some sambal since my hero won't have appetite to eat if there's not sambal like dish.

I am sure you have read about it already. It's all over the news all around the world and I have no clue when this happened.

Yes, I work in that building and no, I didn't hear any commotion. I was in the office very early around 7am and did not realise someone was climbing the building. I was either in total ignorance of my surroundings or was so caught up with work. What puzzled me, didn't it rained yesterday...hmmmm....

And another ignorance on my part, I didn't know KLCC have that round thing on top. I only knew after I saw the pics circulating all over the news. And back in 2007, during his other attempt which he was arrested at 60th floor, I saw with my own eyes he was right in front of the window where I work and was waving at us. All he had with him was the Malaysian flag and a mobile phone with his hands covered with white powder.

My better half was asking why don't the authorities just allow him to climb the building. My answer was simple, kalau dia jatuh and causes the place to be haunted, saper nak tanggungjawab...betul tak!

Iftar Menu - Rojak Manis

Caution, this entry may cause you to drool endlessly and perhaps some may even consider licking the monitor. Sabar yer, kan baru habis sahur....

As mentioned, the cuties dictate what we eat for iftar. One of the chosen menu is Rojak Manis. This is a recipe I learnt from my better half. Jangan main2, my better half is a good cook tau.

The rojak is slightly different from the normal rojak mamak. What's the recipe, sorry yer, it's a family secret. Kalau nak rasa, kami sedia menerima tempahan...sempat lagik promote tu...

This is one of the dishes that the cuties love to eat despite they are vegetables served with the dish.

Iftar Menu - Mee Rebus

When it comes to Ramadhan, one of the difficulty we faced is to know what to prepare for Iftar. So this year, we have changed our MO. We let the cuties decide what they want ot have instead. They will prepare the list weekly so that it's easier for us to prepare the ingredients.

One of the items in the menu was Mee Rebus. I know they love this hence was not that surprise this was in the menu.

The condiments, consists of daun sup, green chillies and lime.

The gravy, panas menggelegak dalam kuali.

The cuties couldn't wait to get their hands on the mee rebus....Yummy....

So, esok iftar aper pulak yer...Tunggu!!!!

Terawih @ Masjid Putrajaya

We were very fortunate as we get to the chance to perform the Terawih prayers at Putrajaya Mosque last Sunday. We thought to make this Ramadhan a more variety Ramadhan, not only the iftar menu, also where we have the Terawih. However, this can only be done over the weekend as the cuties will still need to sleep early on the weekdays. Dah ler kena bangun sahur kan?

We arrived quite late, the Isya' azan was already on air. Parking was a big issue, we couldn't get one so my better half dropped me and the girls first while he and my hero looked for a parking spot. He got one, right in front on PM's gate house.

The mosque is so beautiful. It's so huge and cozy. When we arrived were alot of jemaah there. And it's a combination of international jemaah. The ablution place was at the basement, again very convenient.

After terawih, we took the cuties for a walk at Dataran Putrajaya. It was Merdeka eve, so some where gathering there for the Merdeka countdown.

It's good to have help in the house

It was a long weekend for all of us. That's what we thought when we entered Friday, with one addition leave day, that is a luxury to us.

However, when we entered Sunday morning, we felt the weekend was fading away......

There were still a lot of work to do around the house. Alhamdulilah, my cuties are big enough to help.

My princess was doing the dusting to make sure the racks and TV are dust free. While my hero was doing the vacuming....

Terawih is now our routine

I love Ramadhan. I always waited for this particular one of the Islam calendar. There's a lot to do in Ramadhan, planning what to cook for Iftar, planning for Raya and many more. But the best part is able to perform Terawih prayers.

We always make sure we don't miss terawih prayers. It is very important to us considering this only happened in the month of Ramadhan. Last year, we don't really get to focus on terawih as we were still commuting from KJ to BSP. This year, alhamdulilah, was much smoother.

Another difference we planned this year is to perform terawih prayers at different mosque on weekends. Last nite was at Putrajaya Mosque, we planned to go to the new masjid besi next weekend. Will blog about our experience at Putrajaya Mosque later.

The cuties love it too. Alhamdulilah, now they are much older and easier to manage. I remember back in 2007 when my baby was only 6, I have to make sure I sit at the corner with sufficient place for her to sleep.

I am hoping for Ramadhan to pass very slowly. And when it finally does.....I will surely look forward to the next Ramadhan.

My Merdeka Day Plan

Being married to someone who works in a hospital, one of the sacrifices that need to be made is not to have your better half home with you on Saturdays and at time public holidays. And this is what will happen today...

So, what's my plan for the day.

After sahur, and subuh prayer, I plan to have my very own DVD marathon. The house has been cleaned over the weekend and the cuties schooling needs for Tuesday are ready. So, I finally get to relax.

A Merdeka Entry - Why Merdeka Means A Lot To Me

After few days of silence, I finally got the chance to do an entry, and this one is not an autopublish entry. While typing this, my better half is sitting next to me watching Demi Moore in action in the movie Indescent Proposal, one of her best acting.

Yup, we have just entered the Merdeka Day and let me share why Merdeka Day means a lot to me.

Merdeka Day......

This is my parents wedding anniversary. They were married 40 years ago on that day. Very convenient, so every years celebration, no need to apply leave, a celebration is totally guaranteed.

This year, we have to delay the dinner bit later, since it's Ramadhan and my dad don't really like to eat out or even eat that much during iftar cause he don't want to miss even a day of Terawih. So, perhas we'll have a good celebration later.

Merdeka Day also marked the 1st year we moved to our new house. A very easy date to remember....

And my real Merdeka, was back in 2003, when all the loans we have were settled and we lived for 5 years debt free until 2008, when we bought our new humble home and the new car, that was done after long hard thought.

So, Merdeka don't have to be 31st August, it can happen to us everyday....Just that whether we are willing to look hard enough for it.

With that said, Selamat Menyambut Hari Merdeka and Have a good time with your family....

Home made pizza

I made a pledge this Ramadhan to cook as frequent as I could. I guess I have come to a point where I realised the cuties are getting older and there will be a point they will live of their own. I hope they will still remember my cooking and make a point to come back and eat as one family whenever they can.

Last Tuesday, we decided to make pizza for iftar. Recipe was courtesy of Maryam and it made making pizza seems very easy and cheap.

Just get a pita bread, as the pizza base.

Spread the tomato paste and add toppings, in our case, we had sausages, mushrooms and cheese.

Bake in the over for about 10 minutes until it's because golden brown and crispy.

On top of that, I also cooked spagheti bolognese and bought some kuih and ayam percik at bazaar Ramadhan Bandar Seri Putra.

We are also training the cuties to start iftar with kurma. I am also training myself, yup I confess, I don't eat kurma, but I do know it's good for me...

Recipe for future iftar??? Just wait and see....

Unexpected gift - Patchi Chocolate

A day before Ramadhan, we had a big project led by Maryam, a coaching and mentoring session between CEOs of GLCs and their mentees. It was quite a big event considering the attendees are big shots in their organisation. This was held at the Sime Darby Convention Center in Bukit Kiara. First time ever we had event here.

Alhamdulilah, everything turned out fine and went on smoothly. Despite subuh2 dah sampai situ and worked hard the day before the event, the outcome was very satisfactory.

After hard day at work, now it's makan time. I was very tired so not so into food at that time.

Just had this plate of nasi and some dessert. Ini bila takde selera, kalau selera, harus semua dibedal. The best thing was they had chocolate fountain. I am not a big fan of chocolate but chocolate fountain...I LOVE!!!!

Then came the surprise.....Maryam, the PM bought us the project team a box of Patchi chocolate. This chocolate is very very expensive. This is the type of chocolate I will only eat if I got it for free, kalau beli sendiri jangan haraplah....

Thank Maryam, love the chocolates....

Pre-Sahur - Ayer Keroh R&R

It has been a tradition ever since we got married, we will celebrate the 1st Ramadhan at my better half's kampung. This year is no exception. I have no complain on this since the sambutan Ramadhan there is usually more meriah than here in KL.

We left the house at around 9.30pm, we did not want to miss the first terawih so we left after that.

My baby was very tired and she slept on the way to kampung. However, we have to make one quick stop at R&R Ayer Keroh because my hero was hungry and my better half needed his coffee fix.

I only had roti bakar while the rest ate quite heavy food. I know we will have sahur later with my in laws so, keeping some space for that.

My baby was so tired she had to be carried to the car. Imagine dah darjah 2 pun nak dokong lagik.

One thing I need to share ; we all balik kg really in a gambling situation, our roadtax dah mati and it has been renewed, but the stupid agent did not deliver the roadtax and insurance on Friday afternoon as promised. What pissed me off, she did not even answer the phone. But, since we are confident it has been renewed(after research via the insurance helpline and JPJ) we decided to just go ahead. Kalau kena tahan, cakap jer lah, dah renew Tok, but ada orang bodoh lupa nak hantar...

Iftar @ Home - Mee Bandung

Though it's the second day of fasting, it was actually the first day of fasting for us. We had the first day of fasting @ Batu Pahat which I will blog about it later once I figure out how do I transfer the photos from my berry to my desktop.

The menu yesterday, Mee Bandung. Actually, this year Iftar, we empowered the cuties to choose all the menus they want for this whole month. Which is also a good exercise for us as we don't have to think about what to cook.

I also bought some kuih @ Bazaar Ramadhan Bandar Seri Putra, karipap and kuih lopes. Not forgetting the tamar.

Hot and cold drinks - hot for the old people like me and my better half and cold for the cuties lah.

I am so proud of my baby, last year she managed to complete one full month of fasting and she is determined to do the same this year. This was her pic taken at 6.30pm, still smiling.

We are trying to train the cuties to start the Iftar with tamar, my hero don't really like it, but willing to give it a try...

Fun Time @ Sushi King

I haven't been spending much time with the cuties for the past 2 weeks. Again, work what comes between us. I am beginning to wonder whether is this what I want in life and this could be the best time for me to do some self reflection - muhasabah diri - me as a mother & wife.....

Last nite, I thought we go out for dinner. Otherwise they have to wait for me to cook and there goes more quality time down the drain. At least, when we eat out, we can talk on the way to the makan place and later over dinner.

We went to Alamanda to have sushi!! I have had sushi in many place but I still prefer the one served by Sushi King, maybe my tekak is the cheap tekak kan?

My usual appetizer, the fish roe is a must!

Opening Season of EPL - Match Review Spurs vs Liverpool

Being a football fan and freak at times, I am very excited with the beginning of the new EPL season. The last 2 season, I was not able to really focus and watch most of the games. This season, I pledged to myself, I will make sure I watch at least 90% of Liverpool match as far the EPL is concern.

Last Saturday, the opening match for Liverpool vs Tottenham Spurs was held. I wanted to write about this sooner, but due to frustration, I put this on hold.

Why?

Cause Liverpool sucked that day. They played not their usual game. Gerrard looked so tired(clubbing lah tu), Caraggher did not defend well, Torres was no where to be seen, the only one played like a professional player was Reina, the keeper. It was like he is the only from Liverpool on the field that day, the rest was like invisible.

Spurs played a great game. Keane was at his top form and it was good to see Crouch again, with better hair this time.

Tonite will be another game for Liverpool against Stoke, so I hope I won't be dissapointed again....We'll see....

p/s : where was my better half? sleeping lah, he is not into football lah....

Carrefour Subang - The place when Mama lazy to cook lunch

Last Sunday, after going for the official opening of the new medical center, we headed for lunch. It's been quite sometime since we ronda2 Subang Jaya area so we thought to visit the areas which we have frequented when we were staying around the neighbourhood.

We then dropped by at Carrefour Subang Jaya to have our lunch there. We used to frequent this place on Sundays after we do our groceries shopping. The cuties love the sizzling noodles there.

My better half was in the mood for wantan mee.

And for me, was really starving....so had Nasi Goreng Paprik with Telur Dadar and Nescafe Tarik.

Honestly, we love Subang Jaya so much, may be because we spent many years there. But, BSP is the place to be and love it there!!!

Sime Darby Specialist Center Megah

Last Sunday, my better half took us to the official opening of Sime Darby Specialist Center Megah located somewhere in Kelana Jaya just few km away from the LRT station. He thought to go there and give support to his workmate and attend the function.

But, me on the other hand learnt one valuable lesson....

When my better half wanted to take us to any event, make sure he get the details right. The time, the agenda and other relevant details. Otherwise the following will happen :

1. We arrived late, after all the event was nearly done. And the heavy rain added to the not getting to participate to all the contest.

2. The cuties were very dissapointed and tired as they were really looking forward to meeting clowns and balloons and participating to the contests...

What did we ended up doing....

Buying ice creams......to entertain the cuties.....

What a great breakfast

Last Sunday, again, we had breakfast in our garden. We thought that was a good idea considering it rained the night before and that gave us the assurance the air will be cleaner in the morning.

The difference from the last session was this time around to tapau food. The kitchen was open early that morning and I cooke fried meehoon, with sambal tumis ikan bilis and fried eggs. Of course, how can we leave the Nescafe Tarik from the menu.

The cuties enjoyed the breakfast, they finished the whole bowl of the mee hoon.

While baby, still a bit feverish and had to take the medication after the meal.

I was doing some self reflection over the weekend and thinking about the direction of my life. That's when questions like what do I really want in life pop up.....Time to re-allign and re-adjust the aspiration and be reminded....my priority will and should always be my family, the cuties, as they are my investments for the life after death.......

MyVi. I always admire the cars produced by Perodua. I think they are very innovative and knows the market. And MyVi is one of their best invention.

Hyundai Getz. A car which I love since 2004. Very compact and suitable for city us.

What do you think. If I have the money, which one I should go for....Help me decide and then we can have a car warming session huh?

A well spent Saturday

Work has been overwhelming and this workload usually spilled to the after office hours i.e. either later at night or over the weekend. Due this circumstances, I have to really plan carefully. What time I need to allocate for cooking, for housework and for other related stuff. And my dream to be a successful blogger, which I know something I have to really work hard for. It's not impossible, just need to work hard and time management is very crucial.

Saturday is an important day for me. Not only I have to complete the house chores, I also need to make sure I spend sufficient time with the cuties.

It will usually start with breakfast. FYI, for those who don't know yet, my better half works on Saturday hence life on Saturday with him will usually starts at 2pm. Last Saturday, I just tapaued food, some nasi lemak and kuih. My hero helped to serve the food and this was his creation, karipap berdonut.

Later, once my better half came home from work, we left to send the cuties to Holiday Villa, there's a magic show workshop conducted which we have pre-registered for this. While waiting for the cuties, I tried to do some work at the nearest Mcd, trying to get Wi-Fi access. When we picked the cuties up, they told us it was a boring session and not interactive at all. Kesian.....

Then, we lepaked at Subang Parade, been quite some time since we went there. Had late lunch at Yanti Rasa Thai, ordered Nasi Goreng Cina and Cantonese Kuey Teow. We were really full when we left that place, my better half was the most full one, he even had Sago Gula Melaka for desert.

We hang out at MPH, I bought some books for the cuties, of course, Cleo for me. Again, lepaked at Book Cafe to get some work done using their Wi-Fi.

It was indeed a long Saturday but well spent. Now...what should we do on Sunday...Hmmmmm.....

The H1N1 Scare

My baby was not well since Thursday. We took her immediately to SJCM. With the current scary situation, we felt we should not wait until things get serious.

And I have a strong feelings I was not the only one. We arrived at SJMC around 8 and the ER was packed. They even have to allocate seats outside of the ER and yet these seats are packed.

We have to wait nearly 2 hours before we get to see the doctor. The doctor checked the condition and suspect this is only a normal fever. He gave antibiotics and paracetamol. We were asked to monitor her condition for another 2 days and should this do not improve to take her here again.

Alhamdulilah, she is getting better. Frankly I was really scared and hoping for the best. Whenever the cuties fall sick, I would always wish to take their place.

With that, hope everyone’s weekend is a blast just like mine!!

Growing up with 7-11 slurpee

I don’t know about the rest of you but when I was growing up, I love going to 7-11. I felt it’s like a trip I look forward too. I remembered back then, I would save the money my parents gave me and have a 7-11 splurge at the end of the week. Apart for the sundae cone(which I and Iwan-my brother called patuk2 due to the shape), we love the Big Gulp(which we called Big Glup) and who can the Slurpee.

I think only Slurpee still available at 7-11. One fine hot day, I took the day off and took the opportunity to fetch the cuties from school. The weather was so hot so I offered them a treat of Slurpee at 7-11.They love the fact they can help themselves to put the Slurpee in the cup. Self service works for the kids, adult like me would prefer to be served.

My childhood was not a luxury childhood. I was brought up to earn what I want hence I trying to culcate the same behavior to the cuties. However, sometimes I do spoil them occasional. Can’t blame me, I work hard for them, so the most rationale thing to do to spend the hard earned money on them. But, I will always remind them to be prudent with our spending….something I think all mothers would remind their children.

The day I felt like an incompetent mother

I never had a maid. Not that I am against those who have one, but that's just the choices that me and my better half decided. We felt, both of us still can manage the chores and so we decided, not a necessity to have a maid. I am blessed to have a better half who is very hardworking to help me out.

However, like I have mentioned thousand times how workload is really overwhelming nowadays. Most of the time, after I sat down with the cuties to help them with their homework and after I cook dinner, I have to go to my mini office in my room to do office work. I still manage to do some of the housework but not the cleaning part.

Last weekend, I had to make a difficult decision, that is to hire people to clean my house. It's not something I like doing because I felt may be it's a waste of money. Maybe they don't really clean the house up to my expectations. and may be....a whole loads of may be....

But, I know I have to be realistic. There's no way no matter how I juggle, I can do everything.

Alhamdulilah, the decision was really worth it. They did this spring cleaning package where they send 3 people to scrub clean the whole house, from the kitchen to the bathroom to the rooms and halls. Memang berbaloi baloi!!!

After this would be the maintenance part where they will come 4 times a month and clean the house again.

And the good thing is I got to spend my Sunday with my better half and the cuties, talking and playing games in our garden. That makes the spending much more worth it!

And this is why they should ban karaoke during wedding.

Another wedding to attend

Last weekend was definitely a tiring weekend. It's been quite sometime my weekends are filled with fun activities. Usually, it's either I have to work or just stay at home while makan tidur makan tidur.

On Sunday, we went to this wedding in Gombak Setia. I was asking Minah nie for direction to the place, and can you imagine she replied "Gombak Setia tu kat Gombak ler kak, duh!". Ada ka patut. Amboi ko dik, tekena akak.

Anyway, this was the wedding of my better half's nephew. The theme was white and purple. That can be reflected with the dining table, pelamin and the hantaran.

What make the wedding unique was both the bride and groom are neighbours. So, they just did one reception. The makan place was divided into 2 ; one for the groom side(that's our side) and the other the bride's side.

We had to leave early, expecting someone to come to our house. Tak sempat nak menatap wajah pengantin.

And something I wish to share about an incident during the wedding. Tapi, nantilah. Tunggu next entry ya!

H1N1 - What can we do to protect ourselves.

I think by now everyone should be aware of the increase of death rates due to H1N1. The government has also declared this disease entered the critical stage. I know the advise is to avoid public places but sometimes it may not be possible to do so.

The company I am working for was very kind enough to proviee this H1N1 prevention kit and it comes with a cool bag.

What's inside the bag?

Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and wet tissues

I love the bag. And it's not something you are embarassed to be seen wearing. And that's what matters!

Best Breakfast Session

I think too bad the cuties have a crazy mother who likes to do things when she feels like it. Doesn't really matter whether it's a common thing to do or it's out of extra ordinary.

Like last Sunday, the morning weather was very nice, so I suggested (strongly suggested that no one else have a say) for us to have breakfast outside. Since I have declared the kitchen was close that day, we just tapau Nasi Lemak.

Of course, a must to have Nescafe Tarik.

Apparently the cuties love it. They felt this was better than having meals at the dining hall.

We stayed for a while and read the morning paper. Then, off to a wedding.........

Kentucky Fried Chicken - My saviour!

One thing about malay culture, they felt they should not inform when they want to drop by friends or relatives houses as they don't want to inconvenient them to prepare food or snacks for the guest. Truth to be told ; as the host, I don't really like surprise visits. I would prefer to be given at least a day notice so that I can make sure the house is clean and I have food to serve the guest. I feel real bad if guests start coming to my house with nothing to eat and house is a mess.

That's what happened last Friday. My brother who lives in Melaka and now working in Kuantan pending his transfer approval back to Melaka wanted to drop by my house before making the journey to my parents house. I got to know about this at 4pm when he text me while I was in a meeting. Akak apa lagi, ribut huru hara and stepped out from office to get some snacks at Cold Storage. Since I only had one hour lunch break compared to 2.5 entitled hours, to go down for 15 minutes, made the guilt go away.

And on the way back, dropped by KFC drive throught at Sungei Besi to buy the family combo enough to cater for the crowd.

My brother has four kids though he got married much later than I did. His eldest daughter is the same age as my youngest aka my baby.

It was really a fun feast despite the last minute arrangement. Food was enough to feed everyone and the kids were happy.

Moral of the story - if you want to drop by your friends or relatives, bagi ler notice. Kesian kat tuan rumah, ribut nak prepare segala bagai. And look at the positive, Insyaallah, you will get better food..........

Chicken Rice Shop - Family Lunch

Since we are already in Kelana Jaya for the cuties fun time, we thought it will be a good idea to take my parents out for lunch. I was cracking my head thinking where should I take my dad. Susah nak carik tempat to bring orang yg pandai masak nie. Letih!

So, we ended up chosing the Chicken Rice Shop in Giant Mall(kalau org KJ, they will say Giant Besar or Giant Baru). Good choice I guess considering the weather outside was hot and to be in an air conditioned place is priceless.

We ordered the family set for 6-8 people. But, looked like for 10 people at least to me. The dishes is so much with wide variety. The one on the table was just quarter of it. Tak sempat nak ambik gambo the full dish, lapo sangat.

My parents were very happy to have this lunch session with the cuties. I know they misses the cuties so much especially after the cuties are not their care anymore. Yelah, dulu hari2 jumper, now once a week jer.......

Hari Keusahawanan - SK Sri Kelana

Ever since the cuties change to the new school, they have not get the chance to visit their old school. I know they really missed their friends and wanted us to take them there. So, when they got the invitation to attend Hari Keusahawanan at their old school, they were practically begging us to take them there.

Hari Keusahawanan is similar to Hari Kantin back during my schooling days which was not very long ago (forever in denial that I am old). However, I felt their Hari Keusahawanan is much more happening than my Hari Kantin.

Here some of activities :

Golf for the fathers (and mothers at times)

Colouring contest for the kids

Haunted house for those with courage, and that is definitely not me!!!

And the best thing is NTV7 was also there. They did this casting for potential news readers. Not sure ler casting betul2 or just main2.

Kids nowadays are so advance that it's difficult to please them and get their interest.

At the end of the day, the cuties were happy and that is simply priceless to me.......

What is the A (H1N1) influenza?
It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. It regularly causes high flu outbreaks in pigs but with low death rates. There are four main sub-types of the virus, but the most recent isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.

How does it spread?Influenza A (H1N1) viruses do not typically infect humans though they do occur through close proximity or contact with infected pigs or contaminated areas. Cases of human-to-human spread have been documented.

What are the symptoms?
The symptoms are similar to those of regular flu:- Fever- Lethargy- Runny nose- Cough- Sore throat- Lack of appetite- Vomiting and diarrhoea in some cases.

How common is the A (H1N1) flu infection in humans?
In the past reports of about one human A(H1N1) flu virus infection had been received every one to two years in the United States. From December 2005 till February 2009, 12 cases have been reported.

Has this strain of flu been seen before?
No. Flu mutates constantly, so it is common for new strains to emerge. Pigs can also be infected with both human and avian influenza, and the current circulating A (H1N1) flu strain appears to contain genetic elements from all three.

Can the A (H1N1) flu be treated with antiviral drugs and flu vaccine?
The A (H1N1) flu is resistant to two common drugs – Amantadine and Rimantadine. The A (H1N1) flu viruses are very different from human H1N1 viruses. Therefore, vaccines for human seasonal flu would not provide protection. However, a “seed vaccine” has been specifically tailored to this swine flu and will be manufactured if officials deem it necessary.

How long is someone with the A (H1N1) flu considered contagious?
People with the A (H1N1) influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic; possibly for up to seven days following the onset of the illness. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

What can I do to protect myself from the A (H1N1) flu?
There is no vaccine available right now to protect against the A (H1N1) flu.
However, you can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza by:
- Covering your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the waste basket after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also helpful
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people. - If you get sick with influenza, stay at home and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Consult your nearest healthcare facility if you think you have any of the symptoms.

What precautions are in place in Malaysia?
- The Health Ministry’s operations room in Putrajaya has started a 24-hour monitoring of the situation. The public can call 03-8881 0200/300 for enquiries.
- Those returning from Latin American countries and found to have flu-like symptoms will be quarantined.
- Health Ministry officials are conducting health screenings on passengers arriving from the United States.
- Thermal scanners will be placed at international airports to speed up the screening process for A (H1N1) flu.
- Public and private medical practitioners have been instructed to report to the district health office any patient with influenza-like illnesses or severe pneumonia symptoms and who had travelled to the affected countries after April 17.
- Travel Advisory from the foreign ministry

Hot FM Masyuk!!!!

I am a fan of Hot FM and it's a must for me to listen to them on the way to work and on the way back from work. Love the celoteh by Fara Fauzana aka Fafau and Faisal Ismail (FBI) and though stuck in traffic on the way back, listening to Jawa Rangers make me smile.

I always wanted to enter contest offered by Hot FM but the line is like impossible for us to get through. Now, they are having this new contest Hot FM Panggilan Masyuk. Every slot offer RM700 for the lucky person chosen via sms and when the person receive the call, the person supposed to answer the phone according to the name of the show on air at that time. I think that is so creative to make people not to stop listening to the radio.

Registration done via sms and I have done so. But, my hectic schedule don't usually permit me to listen to radio all the time. When I get the chance, will surely listen via my MP3 player.

Game of Twister - The cuties

The cuties never failed to amaze me. They are good at giving remarks which I am always caught off guard, asking clever questions and giving justification(more like excuses) when they did something wrong. And one more thing which I have to add to this long list is they are also very creative in inventing games.

Though they have board games accumulated after all the birthday parties they had, computer games and outdoor games, they still love to invent games on their own.

The latest craze is the game of twister minus the twister mat. They were using the mat we have in our house and started playing with other kids in the neighbourhood. One will give instruction like "tangan kiri tapak biru" or "kaki kanan tapak kuning". This will also put their flexibility to a test.

And while I watching them sleeping last night, I was thinking....WHY DO THEY HAVE TO GROW UP SO FAST!!!!

Movie Review - The Proposal

Let me start this entry with a caviat, I always love Sandra Bullock. From her serious movie starring Mathew Mcoughney(did I spell this right?) called A Time to Kill where she played a lawyer in this very dramatic movie, to the bus driver is Speed, then the divorcee in Hope Floats and of course the detective turn Ms USA in Ms Congeniality, Sandra rarely fails me in her movies.

I was very excited to watch this movie. Love the cast especially who else, Sandra Bullock. But, I know my better half is not into this kind of hopelessly in love movie as his preferance has always been the more people die the better kind of movie. And I also know if I asked him to go and watch his movie, his response would be "tunggu ler kluar kat Astro".

So, I went ahead with plan B, go and watch the movie with my girlfriends. Which exactly what I did last Friday during lunch hour. I was stuck in a meeting and thought I will be late for the movie. But, alhamdulilah, when we entered the theatre and sat, the movie begun immediately. It's a good sign after all the running and rushing to buy popcorns.

Synopsis (my version at least)

This boss from hell, who would do anything for a career boost, was about to be deported to Canada and will be replaced by this guy whom she fired few minutes earlier. She then figured, by marrying her assistant, she will get to stay and that's what she did. However, little did she know, it's not as simple as it seems. She ended up having to go through this rigid procedure initiated by the immigration and later having to meet the guy's family in Alaska. Lots of funny moment like when they were both naked unintentionally, the ritual dance done by Margaret(Sandra's character) with Andrew's(the hero in the movie) grandma, the most multi tasking person I have ever met, Ramon doing his stuff and many more. Of course in the end is quite cliche but who cares. I am here to see happy moments to release my stress.

My take on the movie....

I LOVE IT!!!! A must watch and you will be floating once the movie ends (At least I was)

The night @ Pasar Malam BSP

Where we live, the pasar malam happened twice a week, i.e. every Tuesday and Saturday nite. We would usually bring the cuties for the Saturday nite pasar malam since we don't usually take them out during school night.

This pasar malam is very interesting and you can get almost everything here. We cook twice everyday for dinner and lunch(when the cuties come back from school) hence the need to top us stuff in the fridge is very important.

The usual purchase ; fishes dan sewaktu dengannyer and chicken. Cheaper and fresher than buying this at hypermarket.

We sometimes have dinner there. My princess loves the yong tau foo while my better half would always go for the mee hoon soup ala bakso. As for the 2 smaller ones, their appetite differs, sometimes burger, fried chicken or even pizza. We usually have this there, right at the stall. Ambiance is very Malaysian.

Pasar Malam has always been a Malaysian thing ever since I can remember. Been wanting to try the Pasar Malam in BBB. Readers there, comment ler the suasan of pasar malam there.

Little Penang Cafe KLCC - venue which prooves I'm a lembab blogger

I got the text message from this young lady wanting to meet for lunch with the objective to deliver the scarves from Tie Rack ~ that is according to her. Being an innocent and naive person, I believe her suci murni intention, I said ok and we set a date. Of course, tak sah ler kalau tak invite the Red Mummy, nanti tak happening ler the lunch.

So there we were, walking towards the location to meet, dah ler K Red memberi sedas dua kata2 lasernyer " Bila ko nak tutup blog ko?" while I was trying to justify how hectic my life is. Siap buat muka kesian lagik.

Then we met Si Ayu Solo, the mastermind of this whole thing. Her food arrived the same time we arrived so don't blame me for not suspecting anything. Then while we were enjoying our food, I nearly choked when K Red was screaming "Aku dah agak dah" and that's when the little sister whom we missed so much appear right in front of our eyes. Apa lagik, sessi peluk memeluk and buat restoran macam rumah sendiri bermulalah....

I don't know whether you have heard of this place called Marrybrown. It's famous if you are from the southern part of Malaysia. I encountered this place, if I am not mistaken when I was in Form 4 studying in MRSMJ. This place was the in thing similar to Chicken Delite.

This place still popular in some part of Malaysia. One of the place is Batu Pahat. There's one branch located in Yong Peng, about 20 minutes drive from my better half's kampung. The choices of food are more extensive compared to other fast food outlets.

One thing special about this place is the kind of seats they have. It's like a swing, something I don't think you will get to see in any other food outlets. The cuties love this but I prefer a more stabil chair. Swinging while eating is not my cup of tea.

Try this place should you get the chance to. But, manage your expectations please...the food may not be as great as other popular fast food outlet but ok lah, not too bad.

Anti ISA Protest Demo

Nope, I am not gonna start to blog about politics, nor am I gonna tell you which side I am on.

As being portrayed in most of the newspaper, much spoke about in the TV news as well as as the coffee shop talk, the demonstration in KL went on. My opinion on this is - I don't I have the right to have an opinion. None of my family members have been ISA'ed hence I would be able to feel the pain and suffering that those whose loved ones have been detained without hearings. My dad has always been around compared to those kids whose father was not there to attend to them through their joy and pain. And I was really kind of upset while watching the news last night about this pakcik who complained he was stuck in the shopping for 2 hours and of course those traders who claimed they have experienced a loss due to this scene. Why don't we stop and think the feelings of those directly effected by ISA and how many years they have been stuck in detention and the loss of income while they are being detained. You do the maths. Those ladies must be happy to know they are not alone and they are alot others who is feeling their pain. Hence, I don't think I have any opinion as I don't have the right to have an opinion.

Anyway, feeling this, made me appreciate my family more and one person who I always looked up to is my mom in law. She is one tough woman and have been through many things in life. She still managed to smile though her heart is aching inside. And one of her strength is in business. She has this small boutique which she started several years ago and every time we come back to kampung, it seems getting bigger. Her customer based have been increasing so do her collections. In fact, I am one of her loyal customers.

She inspired me to be a better mother, wife and Insyallah, a good business women.

Girls Day Out To Hair Saloon

My princess and baby wanted to have the experience having their hair cut at the hair saloon. And not just hair cut alone, also to have their hair wash as well. I played along since I have not taken them out, just them for ages.

I left my hero with my better half for supposedly a guy's day out but deep down inside, I know they would rather spend their time with us, of course not in the hair saloon.

My baby loved the hair wash, she kept on saying how refresh she felt having someone to wash her hair, and to top that, having her hair blown.

There was only one hair dresser that day hence the waiting period was quite long to the extend I fell asleep on the couch while waiting. Mama penatlah...

By the way, thinking of getting a body massage, can anyone recommend a good place to go...

Cempedak Goreng - The hottest snack in town

I'm sure you have encountered stalls by the roadside selling cempedak either the real buah cempedak or the goreng version. The smell of this fruit is just too tempting and too hard to resist.

And we are some of those people who just can't resist so we bought the raw one for us to fry at home. Baru ler puas...

And makan lak with none other than the Nescafe tarik....tak boleh stop babe!!!

But, now I noticed, I can't really eat much since after eating this, badan rasa angin satu macam...

And I know, this is part of the ageing process...Makcik dah tua nak!!!

Moving one......

I am so lucky the cuties don't really expect much from us. They don't really throw tantrums asking for toys or stuff, so far they are just happy with what we bought for them. Of course, being normal kids, they do ask for stuff, but if we feel it's not suitable to get this for them, they will be acceptive of our explanations. I think, the tip is to say NO with reasons, not bluntly say NO and no reason given.

Last weekend, we don't really know where to take the cuties. We don't really want to go to shopping complexes and the playground near our house is just boring. So, we thought to try the playground located at BBB.

The place is quite huge and there are alot of things to be explored here. We noticed some brought bicycle while others were playing badminton. Cool!

They even have this wall climbing facilities. Here my better half was giving some tips and push to my hero.

But, this signboard captured my attention, ade ke orang bercucuk tanam kat sini....

With this, I am now wondering where do I want to bring the cuties this weekend...Hmmm....Any idea???

Mama, Selangor won the League Cup!

I had a good lunch today, with my fellow blogger friends, one of them just came back from study abroad, hence a good lunch indeed. Will tell you all about it later. For now, I just want to update my blog since K Red siap zass kan diriku ini dgn statement "Bila ko nak tutup blog ko?". So, dengan mata yg terkulat2 ngantuk, ku gagahkan jugak menghapdet ini blog.

One event that I have been meaning to blog about was the nite last Saturday where we went to watch a football match between Selangor and Pahang. Me, being a football freak, was so looking forward to this considering I have not got the chance to watch football match at home let alone watching it live from a stadium. My dad managed to secure 3 VIP passes for us and off we go to the game.

My hero shared the same excitement as I am while my better half just go with the flow. He is not into football, remember? My 2 girls just love the thought they got to get out of home.

The match was oklah, what can you expect from Malaysian football, they are just not there yet and honestly, not sure when they will ever be there. Amri Yahya, the guy who scored 2 goal against an EPL team whose name shall not be mentioned, scored more goals to add to his long list of achievement. Cayalah!

Selangor won 5-1 though the results don't really made any difference to the fact Selangor is this season champion

The cuties got some part of the action. They got their pictures taken with few players and most importantly, their pictures with the winning cup.

The nite did not end just yet, we then went for supper at Jalan 222 PJ for the awesome Nasi Lemak Panas before headed back to BSP. Though it was a tiring nite, but the excitement was really something I wouldn't miss. Looking forward for the opening season of EPL and to watch more Selangor live matches! Abah, nak tiket VIP lagik!

Wedding we went...

Despite the craziness and the hecticness life has been, we still got the chance to go to a wedding of my workmate. The location was in Mantin, not so far from BSP.

It was on Saturday, hence have to wait for my better half to come back from work before we can make our way to the venue. By the time we arrived, it was nearly 2pm and since I did not cook lunch, all of us were starving!

Saw some of familiar faces there, but, since I was so hungry and so were the cuties, we went straight to the buffet spread. My better half was not feeling so well, macam feverish skit so was not really into eating.

We were supposed to attend another wedding the night after but my better half was really not up to it, he was really down with fever. Sorry Kamal, will pass your gift later...

The kenduri where the cuties played a big role in helping

Sometimes when I look at my 3 cuties, I smiled and think, "Hey, I'm not such a bad mom after all". Though, I know there's alot of things(berkoyan2 actually) that needs further improvement, but I decided not to be too hard on myself. Deep down inside, I know how much I love them and would do anything for their happiness even at the expense of my own happiness and life. (cukup ler the mother teary moment...moving on.....)

As mentioned in the previous entry, my mom in law had this kenduri back in Batu Pahat last weekend. Yup, last weekend....like you haven't noticed how lembab I am this days in updating my blog. This was one of the moment when I watched my cuties growing up right before my eyes and how responsible they were in helping out during this kenduri.

They were made in charge of packing food to be given away to the guests - this is a tradition for every kenduri organised by my mom in law and later they were helping out to clean up after the kenduri ended. They wanted to eat the lauk kenduri with me, hence don't really mind eating later than every one else.

I know being a working mom sometimes I may have neglected some part of their growing up but never have I want to miss providing them with good values and behaviour. Like none of you have heard, when kids miss behave, people will surely say "Mak bapak dia tak ajar ke". For me, that is totally cliche and I have seen parents who are so well behaved and when you look at their children, tinggal geleng kepala jer kan. What I am trying to say, there's so much the parents can do, but if the children just choose not to follow, tawakkal jer lah.

Remember....

Weekend@Batu Pahat - The Kenduri Preparation

Last weekend, we took the trip back to Batu Pahat. It's been ages since we went back there, the last time was early May. I missed my mom in law and couldn't wait to come back.

It was also a special weekend, there will be a kenduri to welcome the month of Ramadhan. Yup, still early but in kampung you take turn to have this kenduri and there are many houses would want to have kenduri. To make sure no kenduri clashes with each other, they will come up with a schedule. I find that pretty cool, something you don't get to see in the city. Semangat kemasyarakatan ler kan...

The first half of the day was for the preparation of the things for cooking. The ladies of the kampung came "berduyun tiba" to help out. It's called rewang. They will each bring their own knives and started to do what's necessary to be done like peeling the onion, and other related stuff.

I was in charge of cooking hence was at the side of the house most of the time. I was accompanied by my better half.

Some of the lauk we cooked - ayam kurma, kari ayam and sayur kacang.

Next update - the kenduri time and how the cuties were in the berhempas pulas mode to help....

More gardening this weekend??

My better half and my dad share this same passion about gardening. Whenever my dad comes over to our humble home, they can talk for hours on this topic of gardening ; which plant is good, what flower is suitable for which corner of the garden...yada yada yada....

My parents come over quite frequent to our humble home. They told me they miss the cuties very much, to the extend one day my dad was having this dream where the cuties went into the room and my baby slept next to him....Kesian akak dengar. So, everytime this trip happened, surely there will be plants accompanied with it. So far, we have to small coconut plants one each at the back and front of our humble home and few more other plants which you just don't have to ask what's the name of this cause I am very clueless!!

Last week my dad bought all this plants for my better half. My better half was very excited and already know where to plant all this. Me?? Akak rasa biasa jer, nak excited apa kan?

So, now the small garden in our humble home has been filled with plants and flowers. I love the ambiance of all this. And what makes me love this more???

Cause I don't have to do anything and enjoy the view!!!!

Sad entry - after long silence

The day I decided to break my silence, that's this morning was actually another sad day.

I got the news last night my boss's mom passed away. Those who know me would know I don't handle death very well. And this death is no exception.

Before that, I would like to apologise to all my dear readers out there, my dear normalies for the long silence. Not intentional. Work has been very overwhelming, from one project to another, and followed by one big project, announced by our PM recently. Hence, the responsibility is great as well.

Will try to be more regular and I know owe the contest results. Sabar yer, ambik gambo the prizes but tak sempat. And just to give you all heads up, there will be more than one winner....

A mother's best friend

Being a mother with 3 school going kids, washing the school uniforms as well as making sure the cuties wash their shoes clean, is a big challenge. Usually, the school uniform will turn from white to assorted colour. And washing them can be detrimental to one's health.

Until I found this. The Clorox Bleach Pen!!! What every mother's need!!!

Now cleaning is much easier. What you need to do is to rub this on the stain and then wash in the machine. But make sure, you wash only with other white clothing. It can also be used on school shoes. Just a dash on the stain and then brush it off.

Price at RM10 tak silap. But, worth the purchase.

Baju Raya Settle!

You know what puzzled me every year?

It's how fast people send their baju raya to the tailor. Actually, to be frank with you, my family and I would usually buy ready made baju raya. We feel it's more convenient and cheaper actually. But this year, I took a peek at my schedule and I can see I will be very busy until end of the year. Hence, getting a ready made baju may be a problem later.

So, this year, we sent our baju to the tailor. And guess what, when I did that, I was shocked to know they are about to stop taking any bookings. Imagine that, 3 months before Raya and you may not get people to sew the baju raya for you.

My baby was very excited, she don't usually get the chance to be measured.

And the theme of this year baju?

Biarlah Rahsia....HAHAHA!!!!

I'm really super freaking busy, and the funny thing is, I'm not exhausted.

Working on this 2 big projects and organizing 2 big events, all happening in one week. I'm nervous yet excited.

Yup, 2 years old.

The cuties first day at the new school

The day the school opens for the new term was the day my cuties started theri first day in the new school. Well, not the school @ BSP, getting frustrated with Pejabat Pendidikan moving the dates suka hati they all jer and giving all type of excuses whenever they can't meet the deadline.

The cuties refused to go back to their old school since their friends and teachers had organised farewell party and gave them presents. So it will be too embarassing to show their faces there again.

The lastest info received, the new school will open on the 29 June. Due to only for 2 weeks the cuties will be at this current school, my parents told me not to send them to nursery just yet. This school has 2 sessions and my baby will be alone in the afternoon session and of course will be alone in the nursery so they will be staying with us until the BSP school opens on 29 June.

I was as usual, nervous and hoping the cuties will adapt well to the new environment and new schedules. We made the necessary arrangements including logistics.

Alhamdulilah, all went very well. And just got the confirmation, the BSP school will open on the 29 June. Again, alhamdulilah for this...

Now, have to change the routine again..........

Fish Spa - Again

Last weekend the cuties we literally begging me to take them to the fish spa. They enjoyed the first session we had @ OU so they wanted to go through the same experience again.

The nearest fish spa that I have encountered would be the one @ Giant Nilai. The price was the same, RM5 for 10 minutes.

Once we entered Giant, the cuties ran to that place. I have yet to pay and they already dipped in their feet in the fish pond. Harus nak kena marah bebudak nie.

I was not really in the mood for this at that moment so I gave this a pass. So was my better half. We just sat there and watch the cuties having fun.

I also learnt there's a fish spa @ KLCC Aquaria. Perhaps, masa stress2 kerja can consider that as a therapy. May be very soon cause big work project is really around the corner!

The extra work you need to do just because you decide to have grasses around the house

When you see this label, it can only mean one thing...

It's the grass cutting time.

Last 2 weekends, my better half did his cutting grass routine. Usually, he would do this one shot. But, since we have other places we need to go as well, he did this via installment, first phase done last 2 weekends and the final phase completed last weekend.

My hero and my baby enjoyed watching this activity. My princess not so into it, but she loves to be outdoor so she spent her time reading the newspaper.

Sungguh gigih my better half trying to complete his task. Well, you wanted grass and you got grass. So, when you have grass, the grass gets long. When the grass gets long, it has to be cut. And who needs to cut it. Of courselah, saper yang nak the grass in the first place.

Me? As usually, preferred to be indoor, watching TV while folding clothes, ironing....yada yada yada....

I just have to say this again, if it's up to me, semua dah ku simen and tiles kan. Sonag criter!

Durian Season Is Here Again!!

I think by now, most of you normalies out there already had a durian feast unless you are really not into durian. I guess, our family can be considered as one of the very last family who finally got the chance to eat durian.

My baby wanted durian for the past 2 weeks. Given the hot weather, we felt it may not be suitable and we are also afraid the heat may cause the cuties to fall sick. But, after hearing her asking for this like every day, we gave in and last Sunday we purchased some.

My whole family love durian. I do too but off late, I can't really have much of durian. I can eat the most 5 pieces and then surrender. But the cuties and my better half, it felt like they are having this competition where by who eat the most durian wins! They won't stop till the last drop.

One thing about durian ; I will only eat the durian fruit. Once you improvise into bubur or whatever other dishes, I don't really eat this. But, the rest of my family, asal durian, harus semua dibedal!

My company offered this free tickets to Japan GT @ Sepang and was given on a first come first served basis. And I was one of the first served cause I first came!!!
Masa mintak tiket tak pikiaq but only on Saturday I realized, if we go for the race, who’s gonna take care of the cuties. Sending this to my parents’ house would not be fair to my parents, they need their weekends too.

The most responsible and rationale thing to do is to give the tickets away. I first contacted most of the people I know whether they want the tickets and no takers. Then, I offered via FB also no takers(apesal smua tak nak tiket free nie) and later via this blog pun takde yg nak.

We ended up giving this tickets to my front door neighbor while attending the neighbourhood gotong royong. He planned to take his son with him.

Sedih gak tak dapat gi the race but hope the neighbor had a good time there.

Moral of the story : Sebelum mintak tiket, silalah sedar anda tu ada anak2, so renung2kan dan selamat beramal!

We celebrate Father’s Day every year. It may not be a lavish and expensive celebration, but I always make it a point for the cuties to celebrate this day so that when they are all grown up they will value this kind of celebration and feel it’s a must to come back home.
For this year, we took my better half for a Nasi Kandar trip @ BBB. I forgotlah the name of the outlet. We have been here few times but nama akak tak ingat.
This trip was not good for me. I couldn’t fight my temptation to have Nasi Kandar though I know the clock showed it’s 10.30pm. Giler ko makan nasi memalam. But, the curry and the hot rice were so tempting that I fell for this.
We talked and share jokes and of course teka teki. Most of all we enjoyed each other company’s.
Of course, we enjoyed the food, but guilt feeling was soon came out for having such a heavy meal. Takpelah, Father’s Day punyer pasal, belasah ajerlah!

An Afternoon @ Alamanda

We need to do groceries shopping and usually we will do this @ Giant Nilai. However, last weekend, we thought to try and shop @ Carrefour Alamanda. Yup, we have been to Alamanda so many times but never to the Carrefour.

First, we had our lunch first. I did not cook as my better half told me we will have lunch at our back door neighbour’s who have invited us for a kenduri doa selamat and tahlil. But, when my better half arrived from work, he said that house looked like they are organizing a wedding. Since we were invited via another neighbor and not even getting an invitation card, he decided not to go. So, lunch outside instead.

In Alamanda, the food choices are quite limited hence we always opted to have our meals at the Food Court. More choices and everyone can pick the type of food they want.

I had curry mee which was not nice at all, while Baby had her favourite sizzling and my Princess had chicken rice. My better half had his usual Nasi Campur. The most weirdest is my hero who decided not to have anything and ended up eating everyone’s food. Macam buffet spread lak.

Back to the groceries shopping, it was not a pleasant experience. We felt the items were disorganized and quite messy. Next grocery trip, we’ll stick to Giant Nilai.

Supper with the cuties

We don't usually encourage the cuties to stay up late even on weekends. We felt it's crucial for them to get the sufficient hours of sleep and if they are being deprive from their sleep, perhaps the outcome may not be pleasant.

However, last 2 weeks, we made an acception. On Saturday, we brought them out on Saturday, actually with an intention to give them pep-talk before the school starts.

We brought them to this mamak shop @ BBB. Actually, apart from the mamak stall @ BSP, this is the only mamak outlet that we know off here in BBB.

I shared nan with chicken tandoori with my better half. He wanted to order this and would only proceed if I share this with him. I said yes so that he can eat this. Akak ada ler makan 2-3 suap

The cuties listened attentively. Papa giving pep-talk how they should discipline themselves once the school opens.

Our wish, it will be a smooth ride for them since it will be a new environment, new school, new schedule and new friends. Though many people told me they will be fine, but being a mother, worried would like the most frequented word used.

Live Blogging

I have always wanted to experience live blogging. Live blogging by definition being in one location where you can blog about what you are currently doing now, not via berry but live blogging with photos attached.

I am now blogging live from a Mcd. No need to know which Mcd ler but one of the Mcd branch. Too bad, this place has no Wifi so have use berry as modem. Quite surprising this particular branch has no Wifi, I always thought it's given all Mcd should have Wifi facilities.

Weekend.....a working one.....

It was another hectic week and this has yet to end.

I usually look forward to the weekend but not this weekend. After my meeting yesterday, I have more things in my checklist than the one on Monday.

Tired is an understatement, fatigue is just a word and napping is something I really need. I know it's gonna be a hectic weekend so I slept early last night to make sure I get the much needed rest.

And now, after doing laundry, preparing breakfast and cleaning the house, I am in front of my lappy(HP Mini to be exact) to do work while watching the cuties preparing Father's Day cards for my better half.

Weekend comes and go, house chores and work stays forever...
