My parents trip tp Sabah aka what you get when your parents has your digital camera ;)

My parents love travelling. Since my dad used to work for MAS until he retires about 6 years ago(he worked there for about 35 years, so everytime when I was about to quit my job for a new job, there goes the lecture about company loyalty and all, sigh!), he still enjoy the cheap fligh rate as part of the retirement package. Fyi, this only applies if you joined MAS during their government body years. So, jgn dok berangan yer.

They have travelled all around the world. Even when I was younger and not married, we used to travel abroad once a year. So, this time around, my parents went to Sabah. They spent 3 days there.
My dad is quite skeptical about investing in a digital camera. He felt he is more comfortable using the old Kodak inserting camera. However, while we were about to reach KLIA, my dad realised he left his precious camera on the car(please note, not in but on). Hence, not wanting him not being able to capture moments during their trip, I loaned my dad my cheap digital camera.
My hero gave Atok a quick tutorial on how to use the camera. First picture taken, ok ler tu!
Enjoy some of the picture taken during the trip.
Since today is my dad's birthday, perhaps I should get him a digital camera for him....what say you??

All work and no play, make me a dull girl

We did not get the chance to rest and settle down. After we drop our bags, solat and then off to work. There's too many things to be done and so limited resources. We were running a

round frantic. Why? With such a short notice i.e. less than a week, we have to organised this big launching event which will be officiated by a minister at Kelantan when our office is in KL. We did not get the chance to view the place before we decide on the venue and we just gamble hoping that the venue is ok. Alhamdulilah, semua bereh!!!

Everyone played the multitasking role. As for me, I was the leader of F&B, the usherer and the person that will be handing the gift to our MD to be given to the minister. So, if the minister notice, the person that ushered him was the same person on the stage giving him the gift, similatly the person that recited the doa was the person that ushered the guest and help put during the signing ceremony. And no! We did not change our clothes so that no one noticed that.

And now the play part...

This China Man, was so scared when I took this photo, dia takut design batik dia kena curik...exclusive ler katakan...

Takde play mana pun, everyone was very tired and were like the walking zombie. I just bought kain ela(batik silk) for my 2 moms and batik clothing for the cuties.

What's good from this trip was I did follow my better half advice..

Jangan pergi satu beg balik 4 beg...Pergi balik memang satu beg bang!!!

I miss my family

I have been away not even for one nite and I miss my family already. I have been calling them like every other hour and keep on wishing that time could fly faster. If it's one thing that I want right now, is to fly back to my family.

We arrived around 5pm.Quickly check in considering there's a lot to be done. Solat jap than headed to the ballroom of the hotel to check on the settings and so on. We can't see the real layout since the ballroom will be used for another event tonite. We can only enter the ballroom and have our dry run an hour after this event is over, so it could be at 12am and more...biler nak tidur nie...

We were also driven all around KB for the place for the VIP visits tomorrow. Had dinner at this famous place serving Kelantan authentic food like nasi kebaur, ayam percik and may other food. So many place to go and how I wish this is a leisure trip with my family. Enjoy the photos below. Caution : the smile on my face is totally fake!!! It's all tears in my heart...

Baju Batik

I have been busy doing the preparation for a big project that will be held in Kelantan on Thurday. Have been going back late everyday for the past one week. So, when my project leader told me that the dress code was baju batik(baju kurung), I totally freak out. Mana2 aku nak carik baju batik and when I got the news it's nearly 7. We are leaving already, Wednesday's afternoon flight...How ohhh how?
I quickly called my talian hayat..
Me : Bang, can you come and pick me up now, need to get a batik baju kurung. And NO! I don't want to wear my mom's baju kurung. I will look like someone wearing baju pinjam or worse wrapping curtain all over me!
Bang : Ok, will call you when I am about to arrive.
Do you know this is a major crisis?? When you buy new baju kurung, you need to match it with new shoes, handbags, tudung and bla bla bla...Mana sempat nie...
We went to our usual baju kurung hunting ground, Subang Parade. Can you imagine, all the booth that used to sell baju kurung no longer exist. We just came here on Sunday and dah tak de dah...dugaan betul!!
We then headed to Alam Sentral Shah Alam, praying that jangan ler kedai tutup. Alhamdulilah, we made it on time.
So, this is the result.

I have very limited stock of baju kurung, mostly bought like setahun sekali for raya, and if someone close to me getting married, that's it. So, my better half was happy that I got another pair. He knows that I am not "the baju kurung" type. Come to think of it, patut ler my mom in law gave me one pair for my birthday ;)

On another note, maybe some people nak muntah and think I am so mengada2...But this is the first time I am not spending the nites with my family. The only time I did not come back home were when I delivered the cuties. Also, when I was admitted in the hospital. For work related cases, usually, if I have to be away, either I make sure I take the earliest flight out and then come back on the same day. Or, take the whole family with me. But this time, not possible since the cuties are schooling and worse, exam this Friday...

Can I sleep well tonite?? :(
