Hari Raya 2009 - The Snapshots of theme colour

It's a norm for us to have 2 colour theme for each Raya. Once for the first day and another one for the second day. We would usually let the cuties decide what colour they would want as the theme and this year they had chosen green and pink.

I love how all the baju raya turn out. Love the colour combination our family had, similar yet with distinctive difference.
Hope it's not too late to wish Selamat Hari Raya and Maaf Zahir Batin!

Baju Raya Settle!

You know what puzzled me every year?

It's how fast people send their baju raya to the tailor. Actually, to be frank with you, my family and I would usually buy ready made baju raya. We feel it's more convenient and cheaper actually. But this year, I took a peek at my schedule and I can see I will be very busy until end of the year. Hence, getting a ready made baju may be a problem later.
So, this year, we sent our baju to the tailor. And guess what, when I did that, I was shocked to know they are about to stop taking any bookings. Imagine that, 3 months before Raya and you may not get people to sew the baju raya for you.
My baby was very excited, she don't usually get the chance to be measured.
And the theme of this year baju?
Biarlah Rahsia....HAHAHA!!!!

Raya@PNB

Myself, Cik Puan Ambang and Ms Money Matters were invited again to another Open House, this time organised by PNB held at Dewan Perdana. We booked a cab to go to this place as we anticipate parking may be a problem. We also booked a cab back to office after the event.
As predicted, parking was a problem. And what makes it worse, it was raining. We had to go through massive jem on the way there and on the way back as well.
The food however, manage to compensate the other not so positive aspect of the event. They have this Shamsudin Lamin some sort like ghazal group to entertain us.
We did not stay for long, have to go to our company event. While we were waiting for our ride back, the DPM, Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak was making his exit as well. So, dapat ler snap gambo dari jauh. He got alot of bodyguards so no way to take a close up.
The funny thing was, many VIPs were waiting for their ride back at the lobby and all are using big cars...And when our ride came, all dok staring, naik cab je minah bertiga nie...apa pandang2, ingat org naik teksi nie takde duit ke??

How did the event go?

Some of you may be wondering how did the Open House go? At least pretend lah that you are...
Well........
Alhamdulilah, it went very well. The turnout was great! We estimated about 300 people came. Though it's supposed to end at 6pm, there were still guests arriving at 8pm and the last guests left the house at 10pm.
I did not get to take any photos, were busy entertaining family and frens...
So, ciloked photos from lurza...hehehe...ok ler tu!
Thanks to my blogger frens who came that day...nae, dott, nad, lurza(also workmate), faith(another workmate as well) and not forgetting k red(also a workmate). Your attendance mean so much to me, your kindness in sharing this happy moment of my life with me is very much appreciated. Though the first 3 names, I got to know them on-line, but it seems like we knew each other for sooo long kan?

Anakku berbaju kebaya

The cuties has an event at their school today, celebrating Childrens Day as well as Hari Raya. They have to wear baju raya for this occassion. My princess have been wanting to have baju kebaya for Raya, I tried looking every where for a ready made one, but failed to get one...
So, for this occassion, she still insisted on wearing baju kebaya. Hence, being the first grand daughter to my mother in-law, she managed to get one ready in less than 1 weekm courtesy of her nenek. When the baju arrived yesterday via Pos Ekspress, she was so excited and tried it on immediately.
As for my hero, he is ok to wear what ever I prepare. Biasalah kan, boys, kurang skit cerewetnyer...
Ignore the poyo face made by them. This photo was taken at 6am today, we spent the night in BSP so nak gi KJ have to keluar awal ler...

Tukar location lak!
And the Atok wanted his pics to be taken with the cucus lak...
A wonderful Raya indeed!!

Shopping Raya - Part?? Sorry, I lost count ;)

After our iftar at Grand Bluewave, we headed to PKNS Shah Alam in search of my baju raya. I am the only one that has yet to purchase one.

Ya Allah, the place was so packed. So packed that I find it hard to walk and at time, to breathe. Sesak giler. The shop lots are very small and near to each other. I can't even look at some of the lots as they were too many people. I think PKNS seriously need to widen the space otherwise people will not come here anymore, at least not me...
So, then we head to the first floor and going to the shops there. It is much easier and senang nak pilih.

Alhamdulilah, managed to get the baju that match this year theme, purple but very light one - quote from baby.
Really look forward to the Raya celebration!!!

However, as predicted, I got something for my baby and my princess. Feast your eyes with this thing...I told my better half...and he just laugh and said...seperti yang dijangka!!!

Shopping Raya - Part Three

For those work around or in KLCC, you must know today is Isetan Member's Day. That means only one thing........SHOPPING!!!!
So, this week edition of Shopping Raya was at Isetan.
The crowd was really huge, the que was really long....I was quite turn off at first but after looking at the discounts and all the cute shirts and blouses.
I bought my princess and my baby their first wedges....Cantik tak.....

And this are the shirts/blouses that I bought for the cuties.

I also got them a pair of jeans each from Soda and Poney.

Nope, I did not get anything for myself but the shopping is not less satisfying!

Hari Raya Qurban - The Celebration

My better half and me so far alhamdulilah, never had any fight when it comes to where we should be celebrating our Raya, irregardless what Raya. We always have this mutual understanding whether it's at Kelana Jaya or Batu Pahat on rotation basis. After nearly 11 years of being married, so far so good...

This year, for Raya qurban it's Kelana Jaya's turn. It has been a ritual during Raya nite for the men to go from one house to another to do the takbir raya. It was nearly 12 midnite when the orang surau arrived at my parent's house. We only prepared some cakes as we already know our house will be one of the last houses that people will come and they will be full eating at other houses by the time they reach our house.

My hero citing the prayer.

We always start early during Raya. My better half will bath the cuties and teach them how to recite the "niat" for mandi sunat Raya. Once the cuties are ready, we went to the mosque for Raya prayers.

For this year, there were 7 cows for slaughtering. I don't like to watch this part of Raya qurban and will be at home watching TV instead. The cuties and my better half will proceed to the slaughtering area. This year, my better half was part of the commitee for the slaughtering. It ended around 1pm just right before Zuhur prayers.

At nite, we decided to go to Subang Parade and have sushi, then desert at Mcd. And what's a trip to Mcd without allowing the cuties to play at the play land...

The cuties are growing up faster than I want them to be...Maybe it's time to prepare myself that one day, I will need to let them go to experience other parts in their life like hanging out with their frens, going for camping trips and moving out to live on their own....hu hu hu!!! Allah gives strength to face that please!!!

Raya sebulan kan...

Sunday, we continued our Raya spree...there are about 5 houses to be visited. Spread all over the Klang Valley. The first stop was at Taman Seraya Ampang. Being a "buta ampang" person, I have to call the "tuan rumah" every now and then to get the direction. Once we reached there, I have to rushed to an engagement event. That was the most beautiful engagement event that I have ever attended. I cried twice, I have my reasons.....Flash back start running through my head and that caused the tears to over flow....Sorry, can't reveal say much, I have made my promises and I always stick to them. Let me just put in writing, I am so happy for them and wishing them all the happiness in the world...
Next stop, to Kg Lindungan PJ, my better half's office mate. By this time, the cuties are exhausted and we decided that it will be the last stop and we headed home after that.
Monday, our division had the strategic retreat at Carcosa...It was an informative and useful event...
I can't wait to update the photos, waiting for Sony to call me to inform whether the cables are ready...

Bear with me, long postings!!!

Word of caution, this posting will be a long one considering that I am trying my level best to sum up my long weekend in one posting. Tried to update something during the weekend but life couldn't be more hectic than that.

Friday

Our division had a work related briefing and later our effort to listen to the briefing was compensated with a wide range of food which makes me wonder, am I serious about this loosing weight thingy!!!

Azrul doing the presentation, his version!!!

We had the event at Crowne Plaza and it was wonderful, besides the food, we were also entertained by "live" traditional music . We also celebrated our boss birthday and bought him tennis racket and the accessories as the birthday present.

Headed back to office to finish up some work while waiting for my better half to come and pick me up. The traffic was quite bad on the way back. Macam menyesal je suruh abang ambik, but I was to tired to take the LRT.

Saturday

I invited some of my close frens to have iftar at my house. Sorry, didn't get the chance to snap any photos while cooking, was too busy. Yes, you got it, only me and my better half did the cooking. So, imagine the kiosk in the kitchen. I have always enjoy cooking and love when people enjoy eating my cooking. But, somehow, deep inside I was quite sad as only 2 of my office sibblings managed to come.

Andy showing his parenting skills

I guess I just have to accept, there will be some changes in life that I have to swallow. I may not like it but I have to swallow. Sekali air bah, sekali pantai berubah, ini kan pulak hati manusia.

We were exhausted, too exhausted to cook for sahur so what our sahur outside, at Syed restaurant.

The cuties minus my baby had no problem to wake up for sahur. I guess they are used to this oredi.

Buka mata sayang, nanti lauk masuk hidung
Sunday

Today is actually an emotional day for me. It will be my last class for this year. Next year, Insyaallah, I will start with the Masters program. I was sad to depart from my classmates. It has been fun, knowledgable and I feel so lucky to be able to attend this course with a group of the most interesting people that I have ever met. We also had an excellant mentor. He had helped me to open my eyes and noticed important things in my life that I have been neglecting, otherwise it may be too late!
For today's iftar, I have promised my parents a treat and we went to Grand Bluewave Hotel Shah Alam. We have always like to go to this hotel for iftar and this year is no exception.
Baby showing off her chopstick skill.
After that, we did some shopping as the cuties and my better half have yet to get their baju raya. As for me, it's ok, I can get mine later since I did not see anything that I like.

I plan to do my nails and maybe get my baju raya. Actually saw the one that I liked
