Bahulu oh Bahulu

This kuih has been and will alway be my favourite kuih ever! I still remember when I was very young and lived with my Arwah Grandmother, she made this the traditional way and I was always forced to help. I will be asked to beat the eggs and sugar until they rise. This process will usually take hours back then. It will be done in a kind of clay pot. Then we will bake on top of coal kitchen and the smell is just to die for!
But nowadays are different. To make bahulu is simpler with the use of technology. No more having to beat the ingredients manually. Just press the button and the mixer will do the rest.
The cuties love bahulu too. This was given by my mom for Hari Raya Haji but I think it won't last that long as we were enjoying this while watching TV last nite.
Selamat Hari Raya Haji to all....

2 nights before Raya

Hi, I'm back after a wonderful Raya celebration thus far. We had so much fun and banyak giler gi jalan2 beraya.
But, let's start with the 2 nights before Raya.
As promised made to the cuties, we baked some Raya cookies 2 nights before Raya. The cuties were very excited and were really into this baking this.

I only guide them on what to put, what to stir and so on. The cuties did all the work except for the part which involved the oven since it's dangerous.

I was sleepy and tired but the cuties can go on and on with this baking. If not because I called it a night, I don't think we are going to get any sleep at all!!

The taste test, which the cuties claimed they have passed with flying colours...hehehe....
Nevertheless, the fun factor was still very much intact!

Happy Birthday Dear Brother

Yesterday for iftar we celebrated Iwan's birthday. For those who don't know who's Iwan, he is my youngest brother. He is also a frequent reader of this blog - he better be otherwise banyak allocation will be revoked...muahahaha!!!
My dad will only cook for special occassion and yesterday for some reason was considered to be one. My dad's speciality among others are Nasi Ayam and Ikan Bawal Sweet and Sour and he cooked both yesterday.
We arrived just a few minutes after the azan maghrib. As usual, traffic was a hell!!!!
When we arrived, the cuties and the rest were already eating. So, we grab a plate each since tengah lapo giler and the food was so very tempting...
After the delicious meal, it's the cake cutting ceremony, chewah! My baby sang the loudest and ignored her Pak Usu's remark about her vouce...Pak Usu cakap pitching larilah!!!
And my hero prepared a card for his Pak Usu. Though Pak Usu make fun of the card cause Pak Usu was spelled PAKUSU, my hero is so used to this kind of teasing and replied, itupun untung abang buat card untuk Pak Usu tau!!! Ha...kena sejibik...
I was so full after that but cannot rest, cause last night was the sending of all the kuih ordered. We completed the whole process at 1am!!! For those who supported the business, thank you so much for purchasing the kuih muih. Insyallah, if everything goes well, next year we shall continue with the business.
Argh!!! Ngantuk!!! But rezeki hari raya kan, so I am so thankful for it...

Kuih oh kuih...

I love to do business and one of the items in my wish lists is to have my own business someday and that business should be related to food and event management cause that has always been my forte'. It has been a routine for me to sell kuih raya during this festive season. Nope, I don't make them, I just sell them. This is the 3rd year I have been in the business and alhamdulilah, every year the demand is increasing. Last nite, the full delivery arrived at my house. Actually, since Monday, the delivery was made to my office bit by bit since it wil be difficult to carry all upstairs. There are few last minute orders which will arrived next Tuesday.
We buka pose at home yesterday, again with lauk tunjuk. I had a meeting and it dragged to 5 something causing me to arrived home nearly 7. Nak masak memang tak sempat and we were too tired to eat out. After that, we went to Carrefour to purchase groceries. It was unfortunate of us as Carrefour was doing their so called remodelling exercise where they move things around. We have been very familiar with Carrefour, however last nite we don't know where things are located, definately not at their usual isle. And this causes many racks to be empty. We end up purchasing only half of the items in the list. Looks like we have to make another trip!
Nie gambo baby. She fasts everyday but org lain bebuka azan maghrib, hers will be the shortcut version. She berbuka after azan zohor! So, after we pick her up from my mom's place, she was munching away her favourite kerepek bawang which caused rusuhan among the cuties since the princess and the hero were fasting.
Today is Friday and I am a fan of Friday. We plan to go to Ampang Park to do more Raya shopping. Then, tonite ada buka pose event for the division.
From the way I see it, it's going to be a tiring weekend!
