Big Apple Again Then Movie

I took the day off last Monday and Tuesday. It was indeed well spent with my cuties and my better half of course.
The cuties have been wanting to watch Night at The Museum 2. We went to Alamanda on Sunday to watch that but the tickets were sold out hence we went again on Monday.
The crowd was quite large considering it was a school holidays. We had to que for nearly 15 minutes before it's our turn to purchase the tickets. I was told they reserved 2 theatres just for this movie due to overwhelming response.
While waiting for the movie to start, we made our way to Big Apple just for a light meal. I am still on my diet so I just had one semi glacier doughnut with coffee while my better half and cuties where having doughnut spree.
What I thought of the movie?
I love the movie, it was fun and funny at the same time has "morale of the story" attached to it.
The suspense element is also there and if I am an American, I would also learn history at the same time.
I had a good time that day and I hope the cuties felt the same way too!

PGL The Musical - The review

With reference to this entry..
Chewah, mentang2 ler Monday morning, I just choose to be so formal kan?
Anyway, last Friday nite, I did went for the show and I dragged my better half with me as well.
Just when I thought we were there just to enjoy the show, I was so wrong. It was actually a big event.
When we arrived we were greeted and ushered to a special area to have dinner. In the invite they mention just cocktail, but the food served were totally not cocktally like. We had Nasi Minyak, Ayam Kurma and other heavy stuff. I decided not to eat since that's just too heavy or night meals. My better half was having quite a feast, and he insisted I taste little bit of his food, siap suapkan lagik.
An attempt to take photo in the Istana Budaya using cheap camera, that explains the blurness and the darkness of the photo. Nak kena save money nie to buy a better camera.
You know when you watch theatre there will be a break in the middle of the show called interlude. Yup, more food served. This time, I had some cause it was freezing cold in there. Just had a karipap, cucur badak and a glass of teh tarik. Best tuh!
Overall, this PGL was not as good as the first one(and this is my personal opinion). I felt so guilty cause I slept during the first part of the show. It was quite draggy and I miss the first Embok. The Embok in this show was not as good as the first Embok. And the Hang Tuah is still the Mat Salleh version of our supposed to be Malay Hang Tuah. There are accents here and there.....
The second part of the show was simply superb. This is where I had a good time. And Adlin Aman Ramli was the show saver.
I hope there won't be any of PGL. I think we need fresh new ideas. As for me, I still enjoyed Impak Maksima The Musical better.

Impak Maksima The Musical - The Review

As mentioned earlier, we went to the Impak Maksima The Musical last night. Overall, can be summed in 2 words...I'm impressed!! Big time!!!

My better half arrived to pick me up around 6pm but since I still have some work to complete, we only left KLCC nearly 7pm. The traffic, again, was not kind.

Once we reached Istana Budaya, we performed our solat maghrib and then had our dinner at the Istana Budaya cafe.

I did not expect so many people to be there, yelah kan, malay theatre and this is not one of the Tiara's production. But, I was so wrong. Apart for us, the ticket buyers, there were also a large crowd of myTV3 members, I think they participated in a contest and won so received free tickets. There were also VIPs there, namely Dato Yusof Haslam and Dato Mustapha Maarof.

I had a good time, and honestly I enjoyed this theatre more than I enjoyed the PGL. Maybe because this is my kind of music. I even bought the Fabulous Cats CD, all of the songs in the theatre were from that album.

If I have time to spare later this week, I would want to watch this again. That's how much I enjoyed it. Details, please go to this link.

Aladdin the Musical - The review

One will have a certain expectations when a show is being performed in Istana Budaya. Due the the success of PGL, whichever theatre shows that comes after that will have to match the certain benchmark that has been set by the audience. Aladdin the Musical is no exceptions. However, the benchmark was Ali Baba The Musical which starred Aznil. That show was a blast and that became the talk of the town. We went to that show as well and we enjoyed the show very much.
We got the tickets a week earlier, apart from the 50% discount for the cuties, I was given additional 10% discount since I am a Sahabat Istana Budaya.

We arrived around 2.15pm as we wanted the avoid the traffic. You won't believe that traffic in KL usually is worse during Saturday rather than the normal working day. The cuties couldn't wait to enter the theatre. They were running all over the place and now I couldn't wait to enter the theatre! They were six of us(plus adik ler...)
At the entrance of the theatre, the excitement is on!!
In the theatre before the show starts, Istana Budaya was not that strict this time and allow people to snap photos in the theatre.

The show was great! Beyond my expectation considering that there is no actual star, just featuring FBI of Hotfm and Erma Fatima. FBI was excellent and funny giler...Never expect that out of him. Erma was freaky and her voice causes some of the kids there to cry :(. I take that as a success for her...

The kids in this show were very talented. I personally love the parrot character, the witch so called companion. Really cute especially when they were the only 2 creature on stage and were chanting..."jahatnyer dia, jahatnyer dia"... and followed by a giggle...

The cast of Aladdin the Musical doing their bowing action, 1,2,3 Bow....
During the autograph session, we didn't stay to get the autograph as my baby was starving and we need to feed her at the soonest or else....
The lines that I remembered the most :
Akulah jin, bapak jin, ratu jin(plus a gelek act), jintan manis(???), jin lampu ajaib!!!
Apa nie, I tau suka bila u all rebut2 kan I, terasa diriku begitu berharga...(Loreal tagline, tak kena bayar royalty ke bang oooiiii)
All and all, it was an entertaining show...whatever that can make the cuties sit still for more that 1 hour is a 5 star rating to me...
After that, I was craving for IKEA's mashed potato so we headed there for an early dinner. Then, did some window shoppind at the Curve since I love to browse through the flea market there.

The cuties insisted on taking photos with the Optimus Prime(did I spell that correctly)

It was a good Saturday indeed. No one fought(no major ones lah!), no one throw a tantrum(tak sempat pun since baru nak start, my better half gave the look!) and no one asked for something that they know they won't get(seriously, this didn't happen at all)
