Kentucky Fried Chicken - My saviour!

One thing about malay culture, they felt they should not inform when they want to drop by friends or relatives houses as they don't want to inconvenient them to prepare food or snacks for the guest. Truth to be told ; as the host, I don't really like surprise visits. I would prefer to be given at least a day notice so that I can make sure the house is clean and I have food to serve the guest. I feel real bad if guests start coming to my house with nothing to eat and house is a mess.

That's what happened last Friday. My brother who lives in Melaka and now working in Kuantan pending his transfer approval back to Melaka wanted to drop by my house before making the journey to my parents house. I got to know about this at 4pm when he text me while I was in a meeting. Akak apa lagi, ribut huru hara and stepped out from office to get some snacks at Cold Storage. Since I only had one hour lunch break compared to 2.5 entitled hours, to go down for 15 minutes, made the guilt go away.

And on the way back, dropped by KFC drive throught at Sungei Besi to buy the family combo enough to cater for the crowd.
My brother has four kids though he got married much later than I did. His eldest daughter is the same age as my youngest aka my baby.
It was really a fun feast despite the last minute arrangement. Food was enough to feed everyone and the kids were happy.
Moral of the story - if you want to drop by your friends or relatives, bagi ler notice. Kesian kat tuan rumah, ribut nak prepare segala bagai. And look at the positive, Insyaallah, you will get better food..........

Raya guests

After us going to others houses, it's time for us to be receiving guests. We arrived from Batu Pahat at 6pm and at 8pm went straight to KJ after receiving a call from my mom saying that my Pak Anjang will be coming to my mom's house. It's been quite sometime since I saw Pak Anjang and family. They have a big family with 7 children. I still remember during school holidays, I will be the one taking care of this group of cousins.
The next day, my brother came to our house in BSP. My brother works and stays in Malacca, so I don't get to see him that often. He has 4 kids despite being married much later than I did.
Also, the new addition of the family. God, this make me want a baby so badly!!!!
Time really flies while you are having fun and it's already a week after Raya. There are still more plans for us to execute...so stay tune!!!

New addition to the family

In my blog, I hardly wrote about my youngest brother, Iwan. They are 3 of us. And 6 years gap between all. So, when I was in Form One, he was in Standard One...just for you to know the generation gap...But, we still remain very close to each other, very close....
Iwan got married last year, it was an emotional moment for me...My baby brother has definately grown up and starting a family on his own. I know at that moment, being a good person he is, I don't think it will be difficult for him to be a good husband and a good father one day...
And that day came last week, my baby brother is a proud father of a beatiful baby girl, Anis Umairah...such a beautiful name for one of the most beautiful creature created by Allah.
I don't know what to give my new niece. Being an experienced parents, I don't feel like getting her baby clothes or toileteries. So, after discussing this with my better half, we decided on a stroller.
Semoga Anis Umairah membesar menjadi anak yang solehah...Amin.....
