Taman Buaya @ Melaka

This will be the final stop before we leave for BSP. We have included this place in our checklists, believe it or not, we have never been to the place. We've been to the zoo nearby, but not to the Taman Buaya.

We were also informed inside this Taman Buaya, there is also a Water Park for children. Nope, your kids will not be swimming with the buayas...that is the other part of the Taman Buaya.

There were lots of different species of crocodiles there. Mostly are buaya tembaga but still there have different species. There were also hunchback crocodile and tailess crocodile. Apparently, based on the write up, this type of crocodiles were born handicapped.

There was also a crocodile show, which my hero was one of the volunteers who went on the stage to be part of a magic show. Ok ler tu bang!

The weather was hot, but that did not stop us to have a ride in the kereta lembu outside the Taman Buaya. That was quite an experience.

What I learnt today?

I learnt to have a fresh start with the cuties for the New Year, as much as they need to work hard and study smart, I have my part to perform as well...So, lu pikirlah sendiri!

Dissapointing asam pedas @ Melaka

We decided to stop at any of the stalls or food outlet for lunch before we reached the Taman Buaya, and being in Melaka, of course we were expecting to have Asam Pedas. Usually, we would have that at this stall in front of Straits Meridian Hotel. It has not only delicious Asam Pedas, they also served interesting and fresh ulam2an, most of them we have not seen before.

However, the place were closed, and since the cuties were already hungry, must be after all the walking and climbing done earlier, we just choose a place and hope for the best.

And the best was not the word to describe this place. It was really dissapointing. The Asam Pedas was so cair!!! My better half was more dissappointed than I was, probably because he's the one who has to pay for it.

I only had Pisang Goreng, which was not bad especially they have the sambal kicap as the dip.

Next time, we'll make sure we checked out recommended Asam Pedas place, if any of you have suggestions, that will very useful to us!

St Paul Hill @ Melaka

And yet another entry of our short trip to Melaka. It is important to me to make sure I blogged about this trip, I have to go back to the main intention of me creating my own blog, it's for me to remember the memories I have with my loved ones as well as Insyallah one day for me to share it with the cuties.

This was our final day in Melaka and after breakfast at the hotel and after we checked out, we left to visit St Paul Hill, the only place we did not get to go the day before as it was late. I was quite skeptical to climb the hill, not my kind ot thing. But since the cuties were very excited to explore what's on top, I decided to just go with the flow. I wanted to wait down the hill and let them climb up with my better half, but then it might cause them to rush their trip knowing I am waiting down there. Lagipun, semalam kan dah melantak tak hingat, so now it's time to burn those calories.

The view on top of the hill was great. At the same time the cuties were reading all those information related to the hill.

We managed to get a picture taken by my baby (that explains the sengetness of the pic), just the 2 of us.

Next, Taman Buaya before we head home.....

The ship @ Melaka

After the interesting beca ride, we walked further to visit the ancient ship(re-make of it, that's my take) located facing the Straits Of Malacca. Inside the ship, there is also like a mini museum where you'll l learn more about history and other stuff related to the ship.

There is an entrance fee but a minimal one. For adult it's RM2.00 and RM0.50 for the kids below 12. They did not charge us for baby, guess she still look like she's below 6 years. Makan lebih skit boleh tak baby.....

Inside the ship is fully air conditioned so it was very comfortable to be in there. Though there's quite a number of people there, it was not stuffy and hot. It was better to be in the ship rather than outside.

Papa and Mama pulak nak posing. Notice how oily my face is. With all the sweat and everything. No wonder I love my better half so much, in this kind of condition, he still ok to give me a hug!

My baby was tired and needed to be carried to the car...How I wish I was that light to have that ride...



Next stop, Umbai....Ikan Bakar......Here we come!!!

The hot spots @ Melaka

We made several other stops after the A Famosa. We stopped at Stadhuys. There's a small fleas market where we purchased a binocular for my hero. He was about to sulk as the 2 girls received a pendant and necklace each while we have yet to get him anything. So, when we were here, we told him to choose what he wants as long as it is below RM10.

The last stop of the beca ride was at the water fountain in the middle of Banda Hilir. It was very unique and look ancient.

This was not our first time in Melaka and we have always wanted to try the beca ride but before this mostly all of the beca driver(driver ke?) looked old so we are like "tak sampai hati" to seek their service especially me, I know I am heavy. But, nowadays, you'll be surprised there are quite a number of young blood. We took 2 beca ; one for me and my better half and the other for the cuties. We were driven (again, for the lack of better word) by a father and son tag team.

But, come to think of it, if there are many people who thinks like I do....Si pembawa beca nak makan apa kan?

What I learnt today?

I learnt it is important to educate the cuties with history, at least when they start learning this, they can visualise the places that we have taken them too...

The A' Famosa Trip @ Melaka

The first stop of the beca ride was the A'Famosa drop off. There were a lot of people there at that time, mostly tourists. The cuties were excited and started to explore the area. They landed on this canon and I just couldn't help but start snapping pics.

Inside A' Famisa, we purchase to heart shaped pendant for my princess and my baby with their names embossed on it. It was so cool. Forgot to take the pics, laterlah yer.

Before we headed to our next destination, still on the beca ride, we snapped anouther photo of the cuties right at the entrance of the famous historical place.

The beca ride @ Melaka

After performing Asar prayer, we made our way out to visit as many interesting places as possible. We know we don't have much time, spending only one nite in Melaka.

It was difficult to get a parking spot in Banda Hilir, I know it's really because of school holidays coincide with a long weekend. We ended up parking inside Dataran Pahlawan, a cool shopping complex. We decided not to spend time in any shopping complexes, we can do that in KL - though the sale signs here and there were very tempting.

It was about 10 minutes walk to the parking area of Menara Taming Sari, the area we are gonna catch our first beca ride. Each beca charge RM20 for one round within the Banda Hilir tourist spot area.

Unplanned trip

We did not plan to take the cuties anywhere during this school holidays. One reason, budget is not on ourside, spent so much on the new house so not much left. Also, spent for the prepararion for the cuties schooling needs. At the same time, we did not know when my hero will recover from this so, we just don't want to give the cuties any expectations.

However, seeing my hero is all better, we decided to have just a short cheap trip to Malacca. And one of the reasons, I wanted to fullfill my 2008 checklist ; eating ikan bakar at Umbai, Melaka.


Before that, we dropped by Cheras to attend a wedding of my colleague, Apis. I did not get the chance to attend his boss's daughter's wedding held the nite before, takde babysitter last minute, my mom and dad had to be somewhere else.

We did not do any reservation in any hotels, we thought we just gamble, if there's no hotel, then we just come back after eating the ikan bakar. Alhamdulilah, we managed to get a room, after stopping at nearly 5 hotels to check.


We also decided to stay in cheap hotels as we planned to be out the whole day and will only come back to hotel to bath, pray and sleep. So, we stayed near Banda Hilir.
