Carrefour Subang - The place when Mama lazy to cook lunch

Last Sunday, after going for the official opening of the new medical center, we headed for lunch. It's been quite sometime since we ronda2 Subang Jaya area so we thought to visit the areas which we have frequented when we were staying around the neighbourhood.
We then dropped by at Carrefour Subang Jaya to have our lunch there. We used to frequent this place on Sundays after we do our groceries shopping. The cuties love the sizzling noodles there.
My better half was in the mood for wantan mee.
And for me, was really starving....so had Nasi Goreng Paprik with Telur Dadar and Nescafe Tarik.
Honestly, we love Subang Jaya so much, may be because we spent many years there. But, BSP is the place to be and love it there!!!

Chicken Rice Shop - Family Lunch

Since we are already in Kelana Jaya for the cuties fun time, we thought it will be a good idea to take my parents out for lunch. I was cracking my head thinking where should I take my dad. Susah nak carik tempat to bring orang yg pandai masak nie. Letih!
So, we ended up chosing the Chicken Rice Shop in Giant Mall(kalau org KJ, they will say Giant Besar or Giant Baru). Good choice I guess considering the weather outside was hot and to be in an air conditioned place is priceless.
We ordered the family set for 6-8 people. But, looked like for 10 people at least to me. The dishes is so much with wide variety. The one on the table was just quarter of it. Tak sempat nak ambik gambo the full dish, lapo sangat.
My parents were very happy to have this lunch session with the cuties. I know they misses the cuties so much especially after the cuties are not their care anymore. Yelah, dulu hari2 jumper, now once a week jer.......

Movie Review - The Proposal

Let me start this entry with a caviat, I always love Sandra Bullock. From her serious movie starring Mathew Mcoughney(did I spell this right?) called A Time to Kill where she played a lawyer in this very dramatic movie, to the bus driver is Speed, then the divorcee in Hope Floats and of course the detective turn Ms USA in Ms Congeniality, Sandra rarely fails me in her movies.

I was very excited to watch this movie. Love the cast especially who else, Sandra Bullock. But, I know my better half is not into this kind of hopelessly in love movie as his preferance has always been the more people die the better kind of movie. And I also know if I asked him to go and watch his movie, his response would be "tunggu ler kluar kat Astro".

So, I went ahead with plan B, go and watch the movie with my girlfriends. Which exactly what I did last Friday during lunch hour. I was stuck in a meeting and thought I will be late for the movie. But, alhamdulilah, when we entered the theatre and sat, the movie begun immediately. It's a good sign after all the running and rushing to buy popcorns.

Synopsis (my version at least)

This boss from hell, who would do anything for a career boost, was about to be deported to Canada and will be replaced by this guy whom she fired few minutes earlier. She then figured, by marrying her assistant, she will get to stay and that's what she did. However, little did she know, it's not as simple as it seems. She ended up having to go through this rigid procedure initiated by the immigration and later having to meet the guy's family in Alaska. Lots of funny moment like when they were both naked unintentionally, the ritual dance done by Margaret(Sandra's character) with Andrew's(the hero in the movie) grandma, the most multi tasking person I have ever met, Ramon doing his stuff and many more. Of course in the end is quite cliche but who cares. I am here to see happy moments to release my stress.
My take on the movie....
I LOVE IT!!!! A must watch and you will be floating once the movie ends (At least I was)
So, next movie in line - Ghost of Girlfriend Past...tak sabarnyer!!!!

Little Penang Cafe KLCC - venue which prooves I'm a lembab blogger

I got the text message from this young lady wanting to meet for lunch with the objective to deliver the scarves from Tie Rack ~ that is according to her. Being an innocent and naive person, I believe her suci murni intention, I said ok and we set a date. Of course, tak sah ler kalau tak invite the Red Mummy, nanti tak happening ler the lunch.
So there we were, walking towards the location to meet, dah ler K Red memberi sedas dua kata2 lasernyer " Bila ko nak tutup blog ko?" while I was trying to justify how hectic my life is. Siap buat muka kesian lagik.
Then we met Si Ayu Solo, the mastermind of this whole thing. Her food arrived the same time we arrived so don't blame me for not suspecting anything. Then while we were enjoying our food, I nearly choked when K Red was screaming "Aku dah agak dah" and that's when the little sister whom we missed so much appear right in front of our eyes. Apa lagik, sessi peluk memeluk and buat restoran macam rumah sendiri bermulalah....
lil^red listening to K Red attentively while I was focusing on my food sebab lapo giler!
The goodies lil^red got for me. Did I mention she is my favourite sister *wink*wink*
The 2 lovely red ladies....Love them to bits....
And why does this proof I am a lembab blogger.......
Cause this event happened nearly a week ago and I am just blogging about it now...HAHAHA!!!!

An Afternoon @ Alamanda

We need to do groceries shopping and usually we will do this @ Giant Nilai. However, last weekend, we thought to try and shop @ Carrefour Alamanda. Yup, we have been to Alamanda so many times but never to the Carrefour.

First, we had our lunch first. I did not cook as my better half told me we will have lunch at our back door neighbour’s who have invited us for a kenduri doa selamat and tahlil. But, when my better half arrived from work, he said that house looked like they are organizing a wedding. Since we were invited via another neighbor and not even getting an invitation card, he decided not to go. So, lunch outside instead.

In Alamanda, the food choices are quite limited hence we always opted to have our meals at the Food Court. More choices and everyone can pick the type of food they want.

I had curry mee which was not nice at all, while Baby had her favourite sizzling and my Princess had chicken rice. My better half had his usual Nasi Campur. The most weirdest is my hero who decided not to have anything and ended up eating everyone’s food. Macam buffet spread lak.

Back to the groceries shopping, it was not a pleasant experience. We felt the items were disorganized and quite messy. Next grocery trip, we’ll stick to Giant Nilai.

Company's Open Day - Monsters Vs Alien & Burger King

And again I am doing this skip-suka-hati-aku kind of entry. This time we're back to the our company's Open Day event. After the event held @ Mercu, we went on the

bus back to KLCC for a movie and followed by lunch after that. The chosen movie was Monsters Vs Alien the latest movie shown @ cinemas currently.
The cuties were very excited since they have seen the adverts on this movie on the billboards as well as the advert on TV. While hearing the talk held earlier, they kept on asking me when are we seeing the movie and the next question was when are we going to Aquaria. Looks like they are just into the fun stuff and not so into the educational bit of the trip.
While taking this photo, Cik Wan was telling me "mana boleh ambik gambar dalam cinema". Hahaha!!! Memang tak boleh Cik Wan but since this is the only chance I can do so, mesti lah nak take the opportunity kan. Otherwise, I may be accused on trying to film this movie and then jadik tokey DVD harams......
I have to be honest again, I was really tired and I slept just after 10 minutes the movie started. My baby told me I was really sound asleep as she was asking me for water and I did not respond.
When I woke up, about 15 minutes before the movie end, I noticed I was not the only parent sleeping in the cinema. Most of them were still sleeping! See how tired the people I worked with kan? So, due to this, no review can be given. But, the cuties loved the movie!
Then, we had lunch @ Burger King, KLCC. Frankly, that's not the best choice to eat at that hour especially when we have to beat the other lunch crowd. Ended up, some of the participants did not get to sit and took the lunch and ate them elsewhere. I guess, the organiser must have their reason for choosing this location.
My hero was so hungry, he finished the whole Whopper by himself. Mula2 nak share dengan Mama konon, but when I saw him eating this non-stop, I told him to just finish the whole burger.
Next stop, the Aquaria!!! Not only the cuties looked forward for this trip, I love Aquaria myself.
Aquaria, here we come!!!!

Helicopter Vs Nasi Ayam Pok Tek

Last Thursday while making my way to work, I noticed quite a number of helicopters flying and doing some sort of formation. I was cracking my head on the reason for this flying formation. Nak kata due to Hari Merdeka, lama lagik kan.

Then only I remembered, this must be for the Agong's birthday celebration. Usually, they will have some sort of parade for this occasion...

Then, for lunch, we ordered Nasi Ayam Pok Tek(ye ke spelling camnie) from Kg Bharu. Never heard of this but it seems like this place is famous. Apart from the chicken, there were masak lemak nangka and pucuk ubi with sambal cili padi. It was nice but not my kind of food......

And this 2 things takde kena mengena kan? Well, saje nak criter the happenings on Thursday.

Birthday Meal

Of all the places my hero can choose to eat for his birthday, he insisted we eat at KFC. I offered Chillis, TGIF, Swensen and many other places but he still wanted KFC. Why KFC, I have no idea and when I asked him, he just felt like having KFC. With that answer, I stopped asking....
We had the KFC at OU right after the science adventure. The crowd was not that pack so it was quite comfy to eat there. I was already tired so having meals at a fast food outlet where I have to que for food is just not what I was looking forward too. But, since this was the birthday boy choice, we went along with it.
My hero, as usual, being the hero in the family, make sure that the needs of his sibblings are well taken care off. That includes making sure the chilli sauces are able to come out from the bottle. Once everybody settled down, he recited the prayer and only then we can eat.
My hero told me he had a great time and this was like the best birthday ever....but then again, he said that every year. It's either the birthday celebration we planned for him is getting better each year or he is just being polite and grateful for all the things we are doing for him.
With that, I thank Allah for all the blessings....

Zaza's birthday @ Chillis

This celebration was a pre-birthday celebration. Zaza's real birthday is this coming Thursday, but since Fadzillah will not be around that day, and I will not be around Monday till Wednesday, so to celebrate it a week earlier was the most sensible thing to do.

Zaza is a sister I have known since 2005, the day I interviewed her. When she join shortly after that, we became close via Fadzillah whose husband was Zaza's classmate.

Though we don't see each other that frequent, that goes to my other sisters at the place I work at, I will still make it a point to celebrate their birthdays.

We decided to go to Chillis cause they offer free birthday cake(a slice only ya!) for the birthday girl. Fadzillah and I went there early to book the table and Zaza arrived later.

Banyak nyer food, sape nak makan nie...Ended up we tapaued some of the food after that.
The singing and blowing the candles ceremony where the whole Chillis staff sang for Zaza, one of the reason why we love doing birthdays at Chillis.

To Zaza, we may not be as close as we were before, and that is purely because the hecticness of our job nature. Nevertheless, I have not stop caring for all my sisters, though it may be perceived differently. Take good care of yourself and all the best. Lastly, congrats on the promo!

Nasi Ayam Lunch

I have not sure what to cook that Saturday. Was tired actually but just don't feel like having lunch outside. If you haven't notice, the weather nowadays can be very hot and I sometimes tend to get migraine if I spend too much time outside.

So, I thought to cook Nasi Ayam. It's simple and easy to make. And it's a good meal for lunch. The cuties love this as well. Consulted with my better half to get his buy in and he is ok with that menu.

If you don't know yet, Nasi Ayam has always been my family's expertise. When I was young, my dad used to operate a Nasi Ayam stall in Sungei Way. I would go there after school to help my dad and that's where I learnt how to make Nasi Ayam. He has to close down the place when his work place shifted to Sepang. But, I must say, his Nasi Ayam is still the best I have ever tasted and I have yet to really get the right taste like how my dad's make this.

So, the complete menu ; The rice, soup, marinated fried chicken, the chilli sauce(home made) and soya sauce(home made) and not forgetting the salad and cucumber. I also added fried peria, my better half's favourite just to have some varieties.

The cuties enjoyed the meals and so did my better half. However, off late he has been complaining of his weight gain and blaming me for making the food so good. Well, I am just doing my job as a wife...

Asam Pedas Parit Raja

Another makan place that we always go to during our balik kg trip is this Asam Pedas Parit Raja. This place is located right smack in the middle of Parit Raja in the Mara Complex...
Nak pegi makan, ada road block pulak. This vehicle was the stumbling block separating us and the food! Dah le lapar giler!!!
When we arrived, we started ordering the usual orders ; Ikan Asam Pedas and Fried Chicken...
But, sad to say, the quality of the food is not like how it's used to be. Not so sedap like how I imagine. Dissapointing jugak.
Even my hero is not happy with the food. Nak buat camne kan?
So, no more Asam Pedas for the next trip. At least, not from this place.

The big lunch

We took the day off on Monday to settle some errands. The cuties were given the day off by the school due to the Sports Day which falls on a Sunday.

After the stupid encounter at the freaking Pejabat Pelajaran, we headed home. My better half had been wanting to eat Ikan Terubuk and he bought that on Saturday. I love Ikan Terubuk and can't remember the last time I had this.
Ikan Terubuk is a difficult fish to eat. The bones are alot and very tiny. You really need to be careful or else one tiny bone will be stuck in your throat. But, the taste is very nice and make all the work worth the effort.
I also cooked Ayam Masak Pedas, Kobis Goreng, Sambal Kicap, Kobis Goreng, Ikan Masin and Peria Goreng. Yup Peria Goreng...Do you eat that. I don't, I just cooked it cause it's my better half's favourite.
My princess trying to separate the bones from the flesh. The cuties love Ikan Terubuk, only they felt quite troublesome to eat it. I think I sounded like a broken record reminding them to really look before eating the fish.
Best kan kalau dapat lunch like this everyday...Harus hancuss diet ku!

Ani Sup Utara - The Opening Ceremony

After attending the cuties Sports Day, we went back to my mom's house. The cuties took a shower and performed Zuhur prayer. Then, we went out to look for lunch.

We were informed during the Sports Day, there is a promotion going on at Ani Sup Utara latest outlet in Kelana Jaya. So, we thought to give that a try.
We were told the package of beehoon/mee/kueyteow soup with drinks(free refill) will only cost us RM2 per head. That's a good deal. Though, I wanted to have the rice with the soup. I've been to their branch is Shah Alam and love the sambal belacan. Memang kick!
We had a bowl each and the taste was excellent!. The ambiance of the place was nice and comfortable. The staff were friendly and courteous.
For this first visit, I will not do any review since there were only one choice of menu. And usually food outlet will have the best service during opening but the quality will usually decline after a while.
But, undeniably, it was a good lunch!

The simple lunch

Last Sunday was declared as the sempoi Sunday. We will do things the sempoi way. Everything that is....

So, the lunch cooked was also a sempoi lunch. Nothing fancy. Just some simple dishes which are very simple to cook.

My hero told me he prefers to eat at home rather than driving around the neighbourhood trying to figure out where to eat and once we reached the destination, spend another moment trying to figure out what to eat.
I love cooking and no matter how tired I get, I will try to cook. And what makes it better, I have loyal fans of my cooking ; my family. Hopefully, when they are all grown up and have their own lives, they would always remember my cooking and this will motivate them to come back home often.

Farewell Lunch - Moving Building

We are losing a great team member and a great friend to me, Faz. Nope, she is not leaving the company, she is leaving the building.

Her team has moved to another venue, about 15 minutes of LRT ride from KLCC. So, to mark this not so joyous event, we took her out for lunch. More like a farewell lunch kind of this.
Faz is a great person. She has thought me a lot and I enjoyed working for her projects. She is a calm person and have this talent when it comes to solve problems creatively.

The venue chosen, Pelita near KLCC.

The menu, of course Kari Kepala Ikan as the main dish.

The crew, the people I enjoyed their company the most in my division.

It was raining half way eating causing us to be stuck in Pelita. But, it was a good stuck kind of thing as we really had good conversations and laugh.

Faz will be missed, not only by me, by the crew as well. Don't forget to visit ya!

Take a break

I used to be this person who get so caught up with work that I forgot to meet my friends and forgot the fun element.

I will not allow myself to be that person again. I will try with my best effort to balance things in my life and make sure that I take care of myself, physically and psychologically.
So, while busy working on an event in Putrajaya, I thought of meeting one of my friends whom I don't see that often. She works in the area, about few blocks away from our event. So, I thought I just contact her and see whether she is available for lunch. Alhmadulilah, she was available.
Azwa, is a person whom I have known for the last 5 years. She was my intern back on my previous company and she is still close to me until now. I guess some people know how to be grateful while some would stab you the moment they can even to the extend of biting the hands that was feeding you. I'm over that I will let Allah do His work to get back at this person...I will not interfere with Allah's work.
Anyway, she picked us up(Andy wanted to join us, so oklah tu!) at around 12.30pm(sorry kena tunggu k liza, nak habiskan keje skit) and she took us to Alamanda. I wanted to continue eating healthy so we decided to have lunch at Kenny Rogers, coincedently, both of us are on diet. As for Andy, he has no choice but to follow jer lah kan.
It's good to catch up with Wa. I am so proud of her achievement. I wanted for her to be part of my team, but I guess her rezeki was not that and Allah has given her something better.
My only wish Wa will meet the right person who will love and take care of her cause she really deserve to get a good person to be her life partner. Wa is a nice person and she deserve a nice individual!
