Sugar shortages

You must have heard, after all we are living in the same country. The shortages of sugar. Everytime the festive season arrives, there will usually be shortages of something. If my memory serves me correctly, last year was flour.
I can see this happening in front of my eyes, people are buying sugar in bulk, just take a look at this....

I wonder why is this happening. Is it a global thing or just Malaysia. Is it because we use sugar to much? Any clue guys?

Anti ISA Protest Demo

Nope, I am not gonna start to blog about politics, nor am I gonna tell you which side I am on.

As being portrayed in most of the newspaper, much spoke about in the TV news as well as as the coffee shop talk, the demonstration in KL went on. My opinion on this is - I don't I have the right to have an opinion. None of my family members have been ISA'ed hence I would be able to feel the pain and suffering that those whose loved ones have been detained without hearings. My dad has always been around compared to those kids whose father was not there to attend to them through their joy and pain. And I was really kind of upset while watching the news last night about this pakcik who complained he was stuck in the shopping for 2 hours and of course those traders who claimed they have experienced a loss due to this scene. Why don't we stop and think the feelings of those directly effected by ISA and how many years they have been stuck in detention and the loss of income while they are being detained. You do the maths. Those ladies must be happy to know they are not alone and they are alot others who is feeling their pain. Hence, I don't think I have any opinion as I don't have the right to have an opinion.
Anyway, feeling this, made me appreciate my family more and one person who I always looked up to is my mom in law. She is one tough woman and have been through many things in life. She still managed to smile though her heart is aching inside. And one of her strength is in business. She has this small boutique which she started several years ago and every time we come back to kampung, it seems getting bigger. Her customer based have been increasing so do her collections. In fact, I am one of her loyal customers.
She inspired me to be a better mother, wife and Insyallah, a good business women.

Interesting article

Read on and tell me what you think. And if you are the wife, how would you react. Very interesting article I read in thestar.com.my.

Don Juan says sorry to wife

A BUSINESSMAN put up a half-page “love declaration” in Sin Chew Daily, asking for his wife’s forgiveness.

Huang Shi Qiang, 40, apologised to his wife Feng Hui Hua and two children, saying he regretted what he had done to Feng.

In the declaration, he also promised Feng, her mother and siblings that he would change and would not let her down again.

Huang told the daily that he had repeatedly hurt his wife by having extra-marital affairs.

He said his wife had forgiven him many times but he had not changed.

Last Wednesday, the 31-year-old wife, who could no longer bear his wayward ways, left home with their children, aged five and eight.

redmummy.com Potluck @ Kosmo

I know I have been really lembab to blog about this important entry. Have been very tight up with work, K Red would understand, she knows I am part of the Working team for an important event yesterday. Alhamdulilah, everything went well and to add the icing on top of the cake our division's booth won the best booth. Will blog about that later.
The cuties were the excited one, they persuaded for us to purchase 5 copies of Kosmo. One for each of them, one for their wan and atok and another one for me and my better half.

Just some snapshots of the close up of the article.

What do you think?

I don't like to gossip...
But, I am so tempted to talk about this one...
As a wife, I somehow can relate to the feelings Abby is currently experiencing, knowing your husband is having an affair with someone younger(but sorry, just not better looking in this case) and in this case, the feelings must be worse cause the whole country knows about it.
Click this link courtesy of Mommy Lily and tell me what you think. There's a poll in her blog too, you may want to give your views.
And this makes me feel more insecure about myself. Imagine after 3 kids and still looking gorgeous, and yet the moronic husband still wants to look for another one...Yang satu tak terjaga, nak tambah lagik pun...

Arwah Mak Long

When I arrived home after work yesterday, my mom was eagerly waiting for and she was holding the Berita Harian newspaper. Don't tell me there's another sale that she wants me to take her...
But this time it's different, this time it's quite emotional...
She was holding the newspaper that has my arwah mak long's picture on it. Arwah Mak Long whom I never met, Arwah Mak Long passed away 2 years before I was born.
From the stories that I heard from my mom, Arwah Mak Long passed away after giving birth to me dear cousin. She had 2 other sons and she wanted so much for a girl though the doctor was against her getting pregnant. She was really adamant, however, she lost her life right after that. And, my cousin is a boy....
My Arwah Mak Long was a journalist in Utusan Melayu, a very famous one at that time. She was the first female journalist witnessing the execution of hukuman gantung to a convict, she also was the first female jounalist to enter the jungle to write a story about the communist.
Though I didn't get to meet her, from the stories that I heard, she was indeed a brave lady. Somehow I wish if I have at least 10% of her courage, I would be most grateful...
Al-Fatihah to my dear Arwah Mak Long....

Have you seen her??

PETALING JAYA: A young girl went missing yesterday in Taman Medan, two days after another girl was abducted and held captive for three hours.
In the first case on Monday, a 6-year-old girl who followed a man on a motorcycle was found unharmed in Wangsa Maju. But yesterday's incident is more worrying.Sharlinie Mohd Nasyar, 5, went missing in the morning after going to the playground with her elder sister Sharliena. The girls had told their mother they were going for religious classes. The playground, at PJS 2 in Taman Medan is some 200 metres away from their house.
The sisters were there about 11am and Sharlinie's disappearance was only realised some 40 minutes later when the older girl returned home.Their mother housewife Suraya Ahmad said both her daughters left home with the elder girl riding a bicycle while Sharlinie followed her on foot.Sharliena told her mother her sister went missing while they were passing through a back alley. Suraya informed her wireman husband Mohd Nasyar Mat Hussain and they looked for their daughter in the neighbourhood for several hours before lodging a police report about 2pm.Police had questioned Sharliena who could not say exactly where her younger sister went missing. The family and relatives were at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters last night waiting for any news on the whereabouts of their youngest daughter. They have two other daughters.District police chief ACP Arjunaidi Mohamed said they were investigating it as a missing person case.Arjunaidi also released the photofit of a suspect who had on Monday abducted a 6-year-old girl in the neighbourhood. The suspect had duped the girl into believing that he was taking her to see birds and cats. The suspect was said to be wearing a black jacket and riding a black motorcycle. The girl was sent for a medical examination which later revealed that she was not sexually abused.Arjunaidi said it was too early to link Sharlinie's disappearance to the suspect, although he did not discount the possibility that the suspect could have struck again."Our concern now is to find the missing girl," he said.He urged those with information on Sharlinie's whereabouts, or on the suspect, to contact RakanCop at 03-21159999.

My 2 cents - Parents that includes me, need to be extra extra careful and constantly reminding their children on this...Nauzubillah! Hope this girl is found. We don't want another Nurin... Let's pray for her safe return.
