Kasih seorang anak kepada ibu

My hero got a muffin from school and he was really excited to share this with me. He knew how much I love muffin especially the chocolate one. It's been quite a while since I had one and he knew that as well due to my diet.
I told him he don't have to leave any for me. But, he was quite persistent.
He then, cut the muffin into 2 and wanted me to have one. Actually, he insisted I eat the half....

I am very touched with his gesture and I know he loves me very much. He tells me everything that goes on in his life like a best friend do.

My prayers...for this relationship to continue even when he enter his adult hood.

Pisang Goreng Pontianak

Those who lives around Bangi area may have come across this goreng pisang stall. This is located on the way to Bangi Lama from Bandar Baru Bangi, a place called Teras Jernang. We drove across this stall quite a number of times but only managed to stop last weekend.

My better half under estimated the price here. He requested for RM2 of pisang goreng, RM2 of chempedak goreng and another RM2 of keledek goreng. And what did he get...So much food to feed the entire BSP. Sape nak makan bebanyak nie.
How was the taste? Really dissapointing.
The goreng pisang was soggy, the chempedak goreng was bitter and the keladi was over fried. No wonder we don't see ques anymore. Previously, whenever we drove by this place, the que will surely be very long.
Pisang goreng buat sendiri kat rumah gak sedap. Lagi berhantu dari pontianak!

Nasi Lemak Tanglin

Asik mengidam jer kan, mengandungnyer tak jugak...
So, this time I was craving for nasi lemak tanglin. Quite sometime since I had those. It's quite difficult to go there since the location is quite a distance from both home and office.
Alhamdulilah, someone was kind enough to purchase this for me.
But, the taste is quite dissapointing, not even near from how I remembered it taste like. And to make matter worse, they forgot to put the sambal. Nasi lemak without sambal is not nasi lemak!! And this nasi lemak was accompanies by air tekan2(sebab malas bancuh)
But, what makes it a good breakfast, when you share this with the people whom you enjoy their company....In this case, Azrul & Wati
A good start for a working day.

Another food tasting

Part of my job is doing lots of food testing for events. Food testing is not really about normal eating, it's more about really tasting and then evaluating whether the food chosen compliment each other. Many may think it's easy but if you are involved in the food tasting, people will blame you if the food turn out to be bad during the real event day. Macam ler akak nie yang masak. There are circumstances the food was good during the food tasting but during the event day it turn out to be bad.
I did another food tasting for the last Friday's event about a week before the event. During the food tasting, I've given my comments as well as the team whom participated in this activity. It's good to have few people to be part of the food tasting as different people will have different way of evaluating things. I've also made some changes to the menu which I felt more appropriate and juve with the rest of the dishes serve.
Some of the food we get to have during the food tasting.
There were supposed to be about 7 of us but only 3 showed up hence not to waste the food, we invited the 3 ladies, my workmate (notice eiseai is one of them) who work in this building. Forgot to tell you, some of my workmates have to be relocated to our new office.
Overall, it was not bad....Even during the event, the food turn out to be ok, Alhamdulilah...
Don't worry, this will not influence my diet. Food tasting is more about really tasting the food...not melantak ok!

Pastries...and loads of this!

Last week, one of the days when I was fasting, we were stuck in this bad traffic. We left from KJ quite early but there was an accident at the Serdang Exit and they had to close it. Hence, that created quite a stir and causing bad traffic. This of course effected us directly though our exit is at BBB.
Alhamdulilah, Allah has always been kind to his servant. Just when this happen, coincedently, earlier that day, I received this box of pastries. This was given by Sheraton Hotel is Subang. So, when the azan magrib was on, after a sip of drink, I had a small doughnut for my iftar.

For those who don't know me, you may want to know I am not really into pastries, as well as, sweet stuff. That would include chocolates and makanan2 yg lain yg sewaktu dengannyer....So end up, my better half and the cuties were the ones finishing the whole box of this pastries.

Not eating all this sweet stuff, but still, I am fat....And I can't help but to wonder....
(dalam hati, yg manis memang tak makan, yg berlemak tu apa criter? lagi mau heran kan?)

Feeding the staff

A full stomach is a happy stomach...
Nope, this is not one of those brilliant quotes. This is a stupid quote that I came out with. So, that explains the stupidity of the quote.

My in-laws arrived from Batu Pahat late Saturday evening. I was so surprised my in-lwas suddenly were in front of our house. Usually, they will call and we will pick them up at the Putra Mahkota toll area, guess they are an expert already of the route to our house.
Adik came along, as well as my 2 lovely nephews, age 13 and 11. Good! We need all the help we can get for this Sunday event.
Saturday nite is Pasar Malam nite at BSP. So, we thought of buying dinner there. It will be a busy nite so we need to feed our staff well.
We had everything on the dinner table, from Nasi Lemak to kebab. We thought, instead of buying things in a big portion, it's better we bought them in smaller portions but with more variety. So, the dining table ended up looking like a buffet spread!!
Cepat makan, keje banyak nie.....

Bahulu oh Bahulu

This kuih has been and will alway be my favourite kuih ever! I still remember when I was very young and lived with my Arwah Grandmother, she made this the traditional way and I was always forced to help. I will be asked to beat the eggs and sugar until they rise. This process will usually take hours back then. It will be done in a kind of clay pot. Then we will bake on top of coal kitchen and the smell is just to die for!
But nowadays are different. To make bahulu is simpler with the use of technology. No more having to beat the ingredients manually. Just press the button and the mixer will do the rest.
The cuties love bahulu too. This was given by my mom for Hari Raya Haji but I think it won't last that long as we were enjoying this while watching TV last nite.
Selamat Hari Raya Haji to all....

Lauk kenduri

We went back to Batu Pahat over the weekend. Main reason, there's a kenduri organise by my biras that requires our attendance. Actually, I love going to kenduri at my better half's kampung. Not only the scenario is very the meriah, also the food is usually good!!! This is subject to who is the relatives that's invited us. Kalau the kepoh2 one, I will try my best to make excuses not to go...malas lah, asik kena laser and tak leh jawab balik...
Anyway, this kenduri was awsome. The cuties also has loads of fun. They get to run hear and there, have loads of friends around their age, of course they do enjoy the good food...
Takde sape ke nak ajak akak datang kenduri nie....

Trust Our Taste

A bunch of us, the organising commitee for the upcoming event in our company, went to check the taste of the food that will be on the menu that nite. Due to the fact that some of my readers are from the company that I work with, I won't reveal the whole menu. Nanti tak surprise pulak! And no review just yet, again that will kill the surprise element for the nite. Please also note this is note the final menu as we did some changes to suit the theme.
This year commitee is a bunch of crazy people. We were laughing hysterically most of the time, even the sound proof walls did not work yesterday. They are full of energy and very creative in giving ideas. Here, Cik Puan Ambang giving a lecture on how to organise a good dinner while lurza gave a thumbs up agreeing to her statement and William pretending to pay attention.
I am very confident this year's dinner will be a blast and will be another nite to remember. So, make sure, to all of you reading who happens to be my workmate as well, be there that nite. Otherwise, you won't know what you are missing!!!!

Isteri Yang Gedik

Yesterday marked the 12th years anniversary, the day I loss the person who I love the most, my arwah grandma, I call her Wan. Usually we will have a small kenduri tahlil in our house, but this year since I am busy with this moving exercise, we decided to cook and send it to the nearby surau for the tahlil.
We cooked fried mee and roti jala, however this roti jala is different. Instead of having curry to go with the roti jala, we did the kuah durian. It was delicious!!
After all the running around, my feet were very tired. I want to share this with all of you but please again, don't judge me or give negative remarks. Before you call me gedik, I will call myself gedik first.
Ever since I got married, I have never cut my own nails, be it the finger nails or toe nails. My better half would do this for me. I love this session, feeling so pampered and loved by my better half. I wonder how long will he be willing to do this for me......

IKEA Food

I felt a trip to IKEA would not be complete without dropping by their cafe. I love their cafe concept. Reminds me of my boarding school years, queing for food and holding trays....Those were the days.
The cafe was nice and economical, free refills for drinks(even coffee, capuchino and all!!), large portion of meals...yada yada yada...I can really go on and on and on when it comes to food. Maner ler nak kurus cam nie...
Moving on.....
So, they had this new items on the menu, chicken wings. Since we were still full, we only ordered drinks(one cup for hot drinks and another for soft drinks), muffin for the cuties, chicken wings and of course, our favourite, the mashed potatoes.
BBy the time we finished the food, we headed to The Curve lak...lama tak gi sana...

Care for twins...

The same day Dot encounter the twin chilli padi was the same day I encountered an egg with 2 yolk. My mom told me if I were to conceived and ok with having twins, I can eat this egg.
Since I am studying, that would not be a good options at the moment. Considering that my dad is a twin himself, that makes the chances much higher...
What happen to the egg? My mom cooked fried rice and include the egg in the ingredient.
Did I eat it? Nope, because I don't take rice, remember??
Do I still want twin? Yup, Insyallah....
